Who's Afraid of Google Cover Stories?

Posted by: Rob Hof on August 31, 2007

Hmm, haven’t I seen that headline and story in the Economist before? (Actually, Wired can claim the headline first, as far as I can tell, though not on a cover and for a different kind of piece.) It’s hard to fault the contents of the Economist stories as far as they go. But as John Battelle, who literally wrote the book on Google (and to whom I and anyone else who has since written on Google are forever indebted), notes: “The conclusions and coverage are, well, familiar.”
