Sprint's Comcast Pitch

I wrote a story today on how cable companies are rolling wireless services slower than expected. As part of my research, I went to a Sprint PCS store here in Portland, Ore., to see what kind of a sales pitch they gave for Pivot, available through Comcast. I have to say I was pretty impressed with the pitch. The service worked pretty well, too.

The salesman was willing to call Comcast to sign me up for high-speed Internet, voice and cable TV services. He assured me that if I subscribe to Sprint PCS service already, I’d have no problems switching to Pivot (no penalties, etc.). The Pivot kiosk was situated smack in the middle of the Sprint store. The Pivot features I tried — for instance, I viewed my home cable TV guide from a mobile phone — worked fairly well, though there was a bit of a delay as the listings loaded.

Have you tried Pivot? What has your experience been? Would you recommend it to others?
