Do You Use MetroPCS's Service?

i used to have verizon but i would call once a month without checking my bill and say "i think you guys charged me some roaming charges you weren't supposed to. they would check, apologize, and credit anywhere from 7-17 dollars to my account. this was EVERY month. I love metro. best bargain around. my bill is the same every month.i just wish they were nationwide

MetroPCS sucks, alot of drop calls even in San Francisco which is one of the area where their coverage works best.

They used to text message me on the bill due date so I never forget to pay my bills, now they stop reminding me on the due date and guess what? I forgot to pay my bill on the due date and the phone was cut off the next day. They have no grace period for billing, not even 1 day!!! I use their service for my business line and if i don't have my phone working, I potentially lose hundreds of dollars for that day. That makes me very mad. Their service is only $50, the lost for me on that day when my service got cut off could've been 6month of their service price or more.

Go with cingular for the best coverage and forget the ghetto metro, their customer service is bad and it's very very hard to reach to a live person because their automated service will say "Sorry, I can not transfer you to an agent right now" when you say "Agent", I tried saying "Agent" 50 times and the automated system refuse to transfer me to a live person.

I'm going to switch to a different provider, probably cingular.

I used MetroPCS in the Bay Area -- mostly Silicon Valley (from Palo Alto to San Jose) and in San Francisco -- for about 3 months. What's incredible is that they manage to have consistently poor coverage no matter which service area I was in! Statistically, about 40%-50% of my calls either get dropped, or else myself or the receiving party cannot hear what the other is saying.

After 2 months and 2 days of frustration (I started looking for payphones when I needed to call from the road), I canceled the service. That's when I found out they have a weasel clause in their contract saying that they will not refund any balance of the month that you don't use the service. So I was billed a full month for 2 days of service. When I spoke with their customer service, the supervisor refused to even come to the phone. Should have heeded all the abysmal reviews prior to signing up.

I have had their service for 14 months and as for the phone service itself it's great! I live Michigan and I have very few dropped calls (far fewer than my old Sprint contract!) Now their customer service is HORRIBLE! The two times I forgot to pay my bill on the due date my phone was shut off but I was able to pay the bill online and the phone was on again in 20 minutes both times. It is hard to get in touch with anyone after 5 p.m. I actually had a phone completely die on me (the phone was discontinued due to problems) and I returned it phone to store and it was exchanged on the spot. Make sure you set an additional password to the one they assign for sucurity reasons. Other than the customer service, if you pay your bill pretty much on time and pay the extra dollar for electronic billing it has been worth it.

I have to say MetroPCS has THE WORST support. Most of the time you simply get "Sorry I can't transfer you to a representative." What is that? Who is the idiot that decided that the auto attendant cant transfer calls to live help and who is the idiot that thinks this is a good way to save money. Pathetic!

I've been using MetroPCS in SF East Bay since 2001. It's been said, and I agree: MetroPCS phone service is great, but the customer service stinks!

However, when it comes to mobile phone, I'm price sensitive. It only took 2 months of surprise $200+ mobile bills to cancel my Sprint phone and get MetroPCS, now I never fret about my monthly bill.

I can deal with the poor customer service and the (rare) occasional dropped calls in exchange for the one shining star of consistent and expected monthly rate, month after month.

BTW, to get by the automated attendant when saying "agent" loops you back to the main menu, choose "activate a new service" and you'll get a real agent every time.

I use MetroPCS for about 2 years now with decent coverage and little problems with text or dropped calls. The customer service is hard to get in touch with. Recently my ability to make international calls to Peru has been having an outage for the last 3 days or so. I get an error message each time I attempt to make a call. I can receive from Peru but not make calls. It worked fine for many months and my account is current. They are escalating my repair now and say it should be back online in 48-72 hours. We shall see. I will re-post when it works again.

most cell phone companies have at least some problems, i was with sprint for a long time but it was maddening to speak with customer svc you rarely got someone who spoke english. so it is with metro. metro has included an added bonus of always screwing up their billing. had 5 phones on my account. i canceled 1 of them 6 days later and 3 days after i paid my bill all the phones were shut off for not paying the bill on the phone that had been canceled 6 days before. but the worst problem is when you call metro if you are one of the lucky ones that gets through without execption every rep you speak with will tell you something totally different from the last rep i always dread when i have to call them worst in service of any cell company i've ever dealt with, and i've a cell of one kind or another since 1988

Metro is good if you are on a budget and not making many inportant calls. If you are using the service in one place like your house. Not good if your are traving and moving area to area, because they have few towers. So if you got in a wreck and your life depends on your cell phone. The call may or may not go through. I had a wreck at 5:00 on a week day and the tower was busy. I have to walk to a pay phone for help. So now I would not let my dog use METRO PCS SERVICE. They use ALLtel for roaming and theyn don't want you to know that. Any service is better that Metro!

One of my teens has had Metro service for 2 - 3 years, another one for just a little over a year. I have only had to call customer service once or twice and it was so-so. Much easier to go to a MetroPCS store and deal with my issues there. The phone service seems to have improved over the last year (in Atlanta). The range is farther out and rarely any dropped calls now. I pay $89 a month for both lines, one of them having internet access. I never sweat the bill and couldn't care less how much they text. There's little quirks here and there that don't add up to much. I use the sms service 'askme', but when they tried on their phones, it wouldn't work. You can't look at your account online (I use TMobile and like the ability to view my account). Their phone selection is small and you can only use their phones, can't bring one over from another service. So, just little annoyances, not enough to make me switch or sign a plan. I don't know of any other service that offers such cheap rates without a contract.

They are TERRIBLE. I've been trying for just about 2 months now to get the name changed on my phone to my own and not the previous owner.

I went to their store 7 TIMES!! and everytime I go, they say, "It will take about 48 hours" It's been about 2 months and it's still not fixed.

I even PAID them the fee to have my number changed and now THAT person's name shows up whenever I call people. Not mine. It's ridiculous.
I've called the Corporate Office which by the way, they really don't want you to get "Tech Support". Just go to the website and you won't see anything for Technical Support listed. It's like trying to find a needle in the haystack.

I think it's a phony operation.

well i have had no problems with my phones but my daughter says it is metro peice of shit i realy dont why she feels that way but i will say this the ins realy sucks and most stores that i have gone to just dont help me at all there is only one store that i was very very pleased eith and thats wan in Arlington tx off of Abrham i bought my first phone there and the back sup was very very courtious she is well known as yogi bear and out of all the stores that i have been to she is it i moved out of that area adn i hate that i dont go there but i am gong to start over there again when ever i need some thing with my phones i only hope she is still there when i go there ...i have 3 lines with them and its all good even when i do travel time thank you yogi bear just for being who you are ........

Isn't MetroPCS really just the Sprint Network? I was under the impression that is was the same. I have used Sprint for a number of years and it is okay. At one time or another I have had all of them -- Verizon, AT&T/Cingular, T-Mobile, each city I have lived in seems one service is better than the other. In NY Verizon is great, Washington, DC go with AT&T. I'm sorry but they ALL have bad customer service. I don't know why we Americans put up with such bad wireless carriers -- we have the worse technology than the rest of the world, pay ridiculous amounts and get no respect. We are the greatest nation, let's get the greatest phone service!

THE WORSE PHONE SERVICE AND WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Sometimes peopele call and it goes straight to voicemail, drop calls are very normal and it's everywhere not just elevators. Forget about talking to a actual person on there 'customer service' line.

I've had MetroPCS for at least 7 months now. I deliver TVs for a living, so my day is spent driving all over the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex and surrounding areas. In those 7+ months, I think I might've had 2 maybe 3 dropped calls. Meanwhile, the Nextel I use for work drops calls almost on a daily basis. True, the customer service sucks.. But think about it.. If all the majority of people are only paying $50/month, what kind of people do you think they can afford to answer your questions? Want better customer service, expect to pay more. I've read some complaints about people buying new phones but getting used ones instead. This probably isn't a MetroPCS deal, but an individual seller issue. I'm sure the same things happen with Sprint, AT&T etc.. No, if only MetroPCS will allow GSM style phones so I can get an iPhone, I'll be happy :)

Okay i am about to get this phone and my friends call it metro piece of **** actually everyone does. And the way i think of it is that it has really bad phone service but dont they all. And plus they have the best prices around and especially if you have teenagers because you know they like to text and call lots of people and for very long amounts of time. But for me what really tipped me of to buy this plan is the unlimited texting and talk and th eno signing of a contract. But they also have a very-small-selection-of-very-highly-overpriced-phones. But really you only have to buy the phone once if your lucky and dont have a disorder to where domething bad always happens to your phones. So i say get have fun texting and talking buy the overpriced phone and go on with life. Okay good

I'm thinking of getting Metro PCS in LA. They're kinda new here so their service isn't too great right now, but I'm tired of paying for going over my text and minutes.

My brother has it and he says its so-so.

For those who say it sucks, please name the city and state you're located and how long metro PCS has been there.

They say its supposed to get better over time, I wanna know if its true. Thanks

I've had metro for 2 years now in Dallas Tx and I rarely drop calls and today is the first day I've EVER had to call tech support... I called 611 from my cell and said activate, 5 minutes later I've already hung up and problem fixed... I guess maybe the "bad" support experiences might be because of how each individual treats the support person they speak to. Good luck with ur phones....Mine's great. I'm in Michigan..just purchased 2 Metro PCS (ZTE phones)...I get maybe 30 seconds of talk time and then I'm going "Hello, hello, hello?" It drops the calls like crazy. I hate using it. Actually, I'm on mt way to the corporate office RIGHT NOW to see about switching to a different style phone,,,maybe Motorola or Samsung!! But my Sprint phone roamed in my home, so go figure!!

i have had my $150 metro pcs kyocera strobe for 2 years now ive never dropped a call or had any problems and ive been from florida to micigan and back plus my daughter threw it in a river once trying to aviod a call from her grandma lol poor phone the front screen broke but thats all its still going strong

It sucks my number had to be changed because service was so bad.. then they couldnt change it back.. ( its my business line) And its been off for a week and a half now.. customer service sucks.... And when you finally reach a real person they either hangup, or give you the same scripted excuse 24 to 48 hours or more to fix the error.. they have no tech support, and dont even try asking for a manager.. they'll say "please hold while I get the supevisor on the phone..................................................................22 mins later after the same repetitive recording is being played someone comes on( manager) and tells me to repeat my info and then sayd hold on moment.......7 1/2 mins go's by and then he comes back on thanking me for waiting and then says we emailed your info to the " tech support" cough cough! and they will be getting back to you in a few days no more than 72 hours is expected....ooooaaaaah! I'm gonna screm.. losers!

ive had metropcs for over a year now and my phone works great! ive literally never had a dropped call. not even once! there customer service is kinda crappy but come on folks you get what you pay for! there phone service is super cheap! so of course there cs is going to be not so good. everyone should go and get a metro pcs phone!

metro sux. The place where i pay was over chargeing me pocketing the money and it took me a while to catch on. Then i put min on my daughters phone when she went out of town and they said that the phone would work out of the area with the min they lied she had to come after she was half way there which was two hours into her drive. She Cant drive alone without a phone caus her helth isnt good. So I put min on my phone let her use it the next day and again they said it would work out of the area they lied again it didnt she had to turn around come home and i had to go out of town with her. So they lied I spent $40.00 in min on the phone and she spent a ton in gas and do you think metro cares. Come to finde out that all they had to do is walk over press a button on the computer and see if the phones had long distance They are LAZY they hire ANYONE and DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!!!!!! They said they would reimbers and fix the problem and never did

I used to have Sprint and is the worst service and a complete rip off. Every single month I was paying around $250.00 - $300.00 only for 2 lines and I had 700 minutes, nights and weekends free, sprint 2 sprint free 100 texts per month and Ive always exceced my limits? and ended with my phone disconected every month . Every month they used to charged me with a game that I never bought and I didnt have any way to prove it. Same with minutes that I havent had any way to prove them wrng and I was paying and paying. It was a nightmare even to cancel the contract I had to sent a letter after requested by phone 3 times and they kept sending me bills every month like I never cancel the service. I was so frustrated.

Since Im with metro 2 years ago I am so happy. We have 3 lines and we only pay $150.00 and is all unlimited . The guy who was saying that the calls drop hes obviously liying and promoting Cingular cause I have never had a call dropped. The few times that I had to use the service is fair. Is not awesome but good and anyways is way better than the service that I used to received with Sprint. At Sprint no one knows nothing. I will stick to Metro and hope that they go nationwide!!!

I hate Metro PCS. I just switched to T-mobile and they are the best, really. I have the iPhone now (unlocked). I HATE METROPCS. I had their unterrupted service for 5 years, my phone was never off with them, and I came to my senses when I called customer service cause of an issue with my phone and the CS guy acted like he wasn't on the phone, I hate thier customer service, and I refuse to pay these people to be rude to me. I have never spoke to a nice Customer Service Rep with Metro PCS, when I call T-mobile they are always polite and nice, unlike Metro, FUCK them!

i dont care what service you get if you use a motorola phone or a phone that cost less than $150.00 you will have problems. Dont blame the service it your phone with the problem. I have metropcs and may drop a call once every 5 days. I travel 182 miles a day and my phone works great. if you have a motorola phone you might as well throw it in the ocean. boost wireless is another carrier with unlimited service but the have motorola phones and the phone is always giving issues. good luck I use the samsung r430 which is the best phone besides a pda it saves the last 250 calls you make or receive.

Metro Pcs has crappy, overpriced phones but if have to buy a thousand of them I will have still spent less money than one of the other carriers SURPRISE phone bills at the end of the month. They don't always have someone available @customer service but when I've spoken with someone they have been polite and attentive{go figure,you talk to them like people and they respond in kind!} I've used all the wireless carriers. They are nothing but a bunch of thieving liars! I like that I know my phone bill is $90.00 per month for two phone lines. Oh yeah, if I don't look at their text reminding me that my bill is due and then get shut off...I pay online and voila' I have service returned in minutes. I only wish they become nationwide.

I switched to Metro-pcs from Sprint mainly because of the unlimited talk and texting. Sprint was costing me more than I spent on gas. That says a lot living in SO-CALIF. I recently lost a few customers and some friends because they felt I was being flaky by not taking calls or returning texts.....GUESS WHAT???? I NEVER GOT THE CALLS OR TEXTS!!!! METRO STINKS. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

I am in Dallas and just recently went with metro due to my high cell phone bills with ATT/CINGULAR. Metro pcs service is the worst service i have ever dealt with in my life. I do not have to worry about my minutes or my text messaging. However, in my kitchen I do not get one bar of service. I have to try to find spots to get signal at times. Other than that its good to have for people who talk alot.

In Sacramento it works Great. I seldom have have a dropped call in 2 years of use. My Girlfriend also has Metro and when she is home in Vacaville, we have our phone on speaker for 6 hours a day sometimes. We wear our fingers off texting too, all included.

Even when I am in SF, I can get it to work perfect downtown or in most buildings, except Mosconi Center. One Issue just forget about using it outside of a MetroPcs area.

I also have a jailbroken iPhone (T-mobile + T-zones) I seldom use it as a phone (My Motorolla W385 is perfect), but I love it for a computer. I use it for web and email and maps all day long.

The the only time I have ever had a problem with a cell phone dropping was when I lived in the West Hills of LA and used AT&T.

For whatever MetroPCS lacks in the way of customer service or reliability of calls, and for as angry as other reviewers seem, I can't imagine being angrier or more frustrated than when I look over the bill for my land-line phone service, or the penalties for reactivation if I don't pay. All the taxes, surcharges and fees combined just about equal the cost of the monthly service ($29.99). Add a late fee and penalty every now-and-again (my bad!)and I about tear my hair out. I'll take MetroPCS with it's predictable monthly pricing point and save a lot. Forget the land-line!

I have been with metro pcs for over 5 years in Atlanta. They service and coverage area is great for me. After several years of over charges with sprint, you can't beat the price in contrast to customer service. The only problem i have with metro pcs is the CHEAP-EXPENSIVE phones. The prices for the phones are ridiculous. I have never had a phone last over a year. They either just die or want keep a charge anymore. Forget about the insurance, it's a waste.

Read comments here 3 days ago. Then we changed to family plan& some features were cancelled on my phone. Called customer service not too long a wait then i got transferred& thought oh no it's true bad cs dept. Next guy asked if i had been transferred. I responded yes& explained what i needed. He acted quickly, verified, & confirmed he had the correct features and phone line to be changed. If this had been done before i wouldn't have had called cs 4 the first time. Used all other major carriers. Most trouble with nextel-sprint. Metro GREAT price! GREAT service! And it gets better the longer it's in ur area.when i got off line the features(web& pic mess. Were ready to use) how GREAT is that!

MetroPCS is a Ripoff they abuse their customers and also steal money. I had a situation where I did a payment and the employee pocket the money so be careful !!!!!! Also there phone are over priced. I changed recently to T-mobile and I have Unlimited Calls and Text 2 phones for 149.00 a month and if you dont want a contract they have something call flexpay and the same rate plans as having a contract. Metro Piece of $ H ^ T I don't recommend this company to anybody trying to file a complaint with the FCC for taxes !!!!!!! There calculated Wrong

Metro is good if you dont want to be charged extra for text messages and going over your minutes, it's good because it's the same amount every month. The service sucks though, lots of dropped calls. I've had it for 3 years and will not go back to Cingular, Verizon, T-mobile or At&t.

Yes "dikweed" Metro PCS is for poor people like my wife and I. We are on fixed incomes so we try to save a penny any way we can. That said, Metro PCS is the worst company of any kind out there. You've heard the saying "the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing"...with Metro PCS the fingers on the right hand don't know what the right hand is doing. Their customer service sucks because they don't know what "customer service" is. Their dealers don't know anything about their plans and when you find one that does they screw you over.
My wife and I have had 4 lines with Metro for the last 2 years. When we saw their "Family Plan" 4 lines for $100, we thought it would be a great way to save us $100 a month on our bill. It took 4 different dealers before we found one that had a clue as to how the plan worked (the people at Metro PCS customer service didn't have a clue either). We had the choice of paying a reactivation fee on each line plus the new monthly charge or purchase a new phone with a new number and just merge the other three lines into that account. All costing about the same amount. Since my wife needed a new phone to be compatible with the new California hands free law, we chose option 2. The salesperson recommended a particular phone and we purchased it. The return policy states that the phone must be returned in new condition with all packing materials and we have 30 days and less than 60 minutes of talk time limit. Make a long story short...the new phone is a piece of $h!t so yesterday my wife tried to exhange it after 4 days and only about 10 minutes of talk time. The dealer won't exchange the phone for another, we have to return the phone for a refund and purchase another one and pay full price (which is $60 more than the original) and then wait 3 to 4 weeks for a refund by check. We paid cash for the original phone as the dealer doesn't accept checks or credit cards. I returned to the dealer today to return the phone and have the new number placed on my wifes old phone so she wouldn't be without a phone while we waited for our refund so we would have the funds to purchase another new one. But nooooo... they can't do that, they have to cancel the new account and I have to pay a reactivation fee on the old phone plus the regular monthly rate. So I called Metro PCS customer service for some help, but guess what? They don't have a clue!!!!
Neither the dealer nor Metro PCS know that they have just met the "customer from hell". This post is just the beginning.

i thought metro pcs would be my best friend! they turned out to be my worst enemy. i've had this service since may 3rd. its july 7 and the buttons on my phone have already popped off. i've already glued them back on twice!! twice!! i was depressed. and then i thought about and said well its not dat bad i can still text all i want. i was very mistakened.july 2nd i paid my bill of 55.32 when it was really 55.81. the next day they on the 3rd. they sent me a text saying i owe them .49!!! i said ok i made a mistake i'll just pay for the rest online. they wouldnt let me pay it. so i left it alone. and said welll they'll just put it on my next bill. ah ha!! i was right but 4 days later my textin stop working. hmm i wonder what the hell happen.

i agree with everyone that says metro sucks they dont have good service all their phones are extra expensive and if there's a defect in your phone they always want to say you made it that way that it wasnt like that before and last week i bought a whole new phone cause my other phone fell in the ool so i bought a kyocera and it was very slow so the next day i went to return it and the lady said i cant return it because i have more than an hour of talk time that supposedly she told m i can only have an hour wen she never told me that and she said the contract says that to but i read the contract and it said nothing about one hour talk time so i got stuck wit this slow phone and now the phone is freezing on me and metro wants to say that they can't fiz it that i have to buy a whole phone all over and that would b my third metro phone.....im tellin u metro sux they sure do know how to con people for their money trust me

Metro has been here since Feb 1st and Ive had their phn since. CS is good 2 me. I get my ringtones at a site online free and play games free on cellufun. I save 30-60 a month and dont have to worry about reBoosting. I have service in my living room more now then with Boost. With them I always lost my service because my signal would bounce off the canadian towers. I luv Metro.

MetroPCS customer service is a "JOKE", The reps have no idea what their doing.
I called because my battery died after 2 and 1/2 months of servige and the rep would'nt help me because he kept saying I was'nt on the account. I gave him my name and he kept refusing me, even after I gave my account #, address,birthdate, etc., only to find out after the 7th call, they used my initial instead of my whole last name and failed to tell me this, but could'nt the rep tell me this? All other info I gave with my name was correct, if I told you the rest of the things they did that day, there would'nt be room for other e-mails.

The issue is not Metro PCS but the phone you pick. Buy a Motorola phone, which may be more expensive, but will be a smooth ride. Never a call drop in the San Francisco bay area. Better than all carriers I have tried before, from AT&T to Sprint or T-Mobile.
Metro PCS rocks. It's dirt cheap and works great.

I filed a complaint with the FCC and I suggest that anyone that's had problems with MetroPCS do the same. They charge customers various fees without explaining any information, they abuse customers and verbally assault customers on the phone, they block your phone from calling their 1-800 number if you call to much and there is no way of communicating with them. The government should really take a look at this company, it's being handled like a money laundering scheme because they don't care about loosing money.

I have used Metro PCS for 4 years now in South Florida. I hardly have any dropped calls and you can't beat the price. I was all for it until today. Their security is very crappy. I have a family plan with my boyfriend as the additional line. We paid the phone bill a day late which has happened before and his phone got turned back on but mine didn't. They said that someone had called in the day before (The day my bill was due) and asked to have my number switched to a new phone! It was not me or my boyfriend and no one else had the acct information. I called *611 three times before getting someone that could help me; the first time being left on hold for a half hour then getting hung up on. Finally, they confirmed that the service had been switched to another phone that I have never owned. When I asked to switch it back they told me I would no longer have insurance on my phone because it has been switched. (Which I didn't even want!!)

On top of that I searched around on the internet and realized they added new features to the $45 dollar plan that they have and I was not getting them because I was an older customer. I was supposed to be getting the unlimited web access $5 and mapquest $4. I know this service has been offered for at least 2 years now according to another friend of mine that has the same plan and receives the services. This totals up to $216 dollars extra I have been paying for nothing. When I asked to be compensated for all that money I had been paying and not getting service they told me, "there was nothing they could do." I asked if their supervisor could look into it and their response was, " We are able to offer such low prices because we don't compensate for stuff like that" So I guess I am SOL. Currently looking into a higher up to speak with and planning on writing the better business bureau about this issue if anyone has any contact information please post. Thanks.

I LOVE metro. I live in South Florida and they have been here the longest i think. I have had their service for the past 4 yrs for sure, maybe even 5. I never pay more than 50 a month for my bill and now I only pay $140 for 4 lines, one has internet. I recently flashed a treo to use on metro and so far I am happy.
I have had a few phones that have broken and you go to a metro corp store and they replace it for you with maybe a small fee.
It sounds like most of the ppl complaining are expecting a service they might spend $200/mo for. If you want that, by all means go spend the $$. I never had a bad customer svc rep and to get to spk to one you just say activate a phone - its a pretty easy trick you figure out if you think abt it.
Personally, I refuse to give AT&T or Sprint or Verizon $200 a month for the same thing I can get for less than $50.
I think they must have a lot of towers here b/c i rarely get a dropped call, more now with the treo, but thats a phone issue. I have always used nokias and NEVER had a problem.

Well, I just Metro Pcs and cancelled my Sprint " simply everything " plan. I will be paying 45 bux a month which seems pretty good.

My girlfriend and I live in 2 different states in the meantime and she is not doing good with her health, I need to be with her for more than 6 hours a day on the phone and sometimes at nights. Well, by the time I reached 3 hours a dropped call, it is not the battery and it is not my cheap phone cause I tried it with my friend who has the most expensive phone from Metro Pcs and it did the same thing.

I visited them today and they didn't have an answer to my question. So, here I am posting this comment and STILL with no answer. It is ridiculous that they don't know why the service does that every 3 hours.

PEOPLE, STAY AWAY FROM THIS SERVICE CAUSE I WILL ONLY BE PAYING THIS MONTH AND I WILL BE BACK TO SPRINT OR CINGULAR.

been using ghettro PCS now for a year, I live in the East bay, no problems there with service however i work in napa and i get no service or travel talk mode 8 hours out of the day, yet a friend of mine that lives there has great service with a different phone , i have the L7c, also i have very limited coverage in sacramento, overall though im happy i can deal with it mainly for the unlimited-ness of the whole thing and not worrying about a bill that would be out of this world , customer service blows , i always use the "activate an account" method and i get some person that hardly understands or can clearly speak english this is very frustrating for me, also the "3.00" service fee that they charge just for paying your bill over the phone instead of online thats b.s.

also ive been up to 2 days late on paying and ive continued to have service on the 3rd day it was dropped and then i had to wait up to 3 hours for my phone to be turned back on and whatever you do dont forget your password or your confirmation number otherwise your screwed

I live in the Sacramento area and work in Vallejo. I had my Motorola v3c flashed over to metropcs last month and get quite a few dropped calls, even in the bay area. I used to have Cricket(same phone) when I lived in another state and I never had a dropped call. When I received my first bill I was double charged for the flashing service. I called the 888 number and spoke to a representative,I had to explain to him four or five times that I was calling for an overbilling problem. He then said I would have to go to the store and see if they would take it off my bill. I had to ask him three times to speak to his supervisor before he put his supervisor on the phone. I explained to his supervisor that the store was fifty miles from where I live. The supervisor then said "What you don't have no car? You can take the bus you know." I have had alot of customer service issues with cell phone companies before, but I have never been insulted by any rep let alone a supervisor. When I asked to speak to the supervisors boss he hung up on me. At no point during the call did I yell, curse or insult the rep or his supervisor. Needless to say I went out that day and signed up with T-mobile and haven't had any problems.

The international texting service from MEtro PCS does NOT work at all, even though there is no error message when sending (mainly to the UK). Actually one number in Belgium (out of about 50) confirmed receiving a text from me. I have also been unable to receive any international texts either. Customer service has been unhelpful and not willing to look into this matter any further. I have had problems with this since activating the service 2 months ago.

I've had metro here in Hayward ca for about 3 years now and its been great for me to be honest I've had shity luck with sprint then anything look into it if you know what kind of service your getting into limited calling area ect... every service is going to have dropped calls it happens they are not perfect. your bill is the same every month which is good so your bill doesn't get out of control so all i suggest is look into go to their website view the coverage area and if it will work for you great and if not move on you will never know unless you try it out for yourself.!!!

NO screen-it doesn't work so don't bother. the name will pop up while your phone is ringing--so if you happen to SEE that you're missing a call, great--but then later, when and IF it tells you that you have a missed call--"no name." about the "if" it tells you have a missed call. I tested my phone by calling it from another phone twice. I left a voice mail both times...however, when I went to check that on my phone it said that I had NO voicemail AT ALL, i never even dialed out of the phone--just left a message, and it was just i guess deleted somehow--so scary if an employer calls or a client (for a business owner) calls, tells me they left a message and then think I either a.) ignored them or b.) am lying when I say I never received a voicemessage. Also, I mentioned earlier that I'd called twice and left 2 separate voicemails--well, later that day, my phone said that I had NO missed calls--they just magically dissappeared. Wow--um, you'd have to be STUPID to buy MetroPCS after reading this, now that you KNOW that you may or may not receive the voicemails, or at least the missed calls callers leave you.

Oh yeah, and this was a brand new phone and a brand new service. I am returning it. What a waste of gasoline, time, and energy spent researching what phone would work.

Oh yeah, one more thing...4 years ago I'd put MetroPCS on my phone without telling like anyone, and it just turned out like that night or next day I would have ended up deperately needing it well...hmm...yeah, I payed for a service, and didn't receive it--nothing...I thougth it was some stupid operartor human error--but nope, just a HORRIBLE business plan for cellphones...sorry, I was previously a fan of no contracts--but not for causing potential contracts--i'll be without a phone until I can afford better.

I think most people that have complaints are wimps. They phone is basic.. you want to pay more.. go to verizon and make payment along with your freakin Arm! Metro PCS drops a few calls but who cares .. you save money.. if you live in Los Angeles or where metro pcs has cool coverage.. then cool.. if you don't .. then you have no business on the network.. I pay 44 bucks a month vs verizon's 99 plus 20 plus dollars more for taxes.. It's worth it! A few dropped calls is worth it.. you have unlimited calls anyways..

I got MetroPCS this past summer, I live in Grand Prairie [Dallas area] my texts are constantly late, calls get dropped, I'll be texting somebody and I don't get 1-2 texts, but I get the rest..then I recieve it 15 mins later. Ugh..I guess you get what you pay for..right? :)

I've not had any problems with the service, yet.
However, I did lose my phone at one point - and bought a new cheaper one with their lost/stolen discount. A nice person returned my original to me the next day. So, thinking that I hadn't used this other newly bought phone yet - I thought I could return it. You can't return it apparently. They say it only applies to new activations, you buy another phone and don't like it... you are out of luck!

I have used their services for six months and it is good. I live in California and it has been just a couple of times that I lose coverage.

In reading the posted comments I can only say that if you are a business person who use the phone to make thousands of dollars and call everywhere in the country, this is not the service for you. It is good to save money for your business but when it comes to your may tool for business you cannot be cheap. Use another carrier if this is the case, I am sure you can afford it.

I think this carrier is more for personal use than anything else. I have call different states and have had no problems. The only problem I have and it is every once in a blue moon is when I call my family in Costa Rica. But even so, I can talk to them all the time and just for $10 I get 140 minutes which is great since I don't have to be buying international phone cards.

I only hope I can use my phone instead of theirs.

I have 5 lines with Metro PCS for $174 per month vs. 4 lines at Verizon for $450. We never drop calls in Florida. As for the price of their phones, they are cheap. The sheep in the world think the come-on phone prices with 2 year contracts at other companies are a deal. Wake up !! They rape you for 2 years and suck you back in with new phones. Do the math. I save almost $300 per month with Metro...in 2 years that's $7200. I can buy cars with that money.

I love my Metro Pcs. Customer service is terrible, but aside from that nothing beats unlimited talk(local and long distance)and unlimited text and picture messaging for under 60 bucks a month. Why can't other cell phone companies do the same? You can't please everybody, but the days of $100 or more cell phone bills are over, at least for now. There should be a flatrate for cell phone service just like home phone service. The economy is bad and will probably get worse before it gets any better, but all and any pennies saved are truly earned these days.

What do all you people expect! Unlimited minutes, text, and whatever else for $50 dollars with taxes! I mean get real if you are that naive to believe you will only pay 50 dollars and get unlimited everything, good customer service, and a post paid style bill then you are the most sense less person.

This makes sense. For those of you complaining about the grace period for payment it works just like any other prepaid service. You pay before you use it, and when you use it all up it will not work until you have put more money onto your account. And with prepaid once you pay the difference it not refundable.

MetroPCS I have had for about 2 years. I do however have another carrier for my second line but that's because I need the blackberry for email and nationwide calling. I think its great but if you need email from your corporations, nationwide minutes, or if you are one of those people who cant pay a bill on time them metro isnt for you. Plain and simple!

well, ive had metro pcs for quite sometime now. & i have had very few problems with their service and phones. i just wish they had better and cheaper phones! & no there is NO contracts.

& BTW you can use your old verizon/sprint phones, you just have to go to a metropcs store that unlocks phones..i think its about $30 dollars or so. so its not that bad. also, why the hell would you use metro pcs for business, thats kindve dumb in my opinion. do you really expect such high maintenance care when you only pay $30-60 a month, GET A BETTER PHONE COMPANY and STOP COMPLAINING! its plain & simple :)

Metro PCS does not "blow" or "suck" as most of you say. I have been a customer of Metro since 2006 and have not had problems with my service. Since then I have gotten a job working for one of their corporate locations and let me tell you...dealing with customers is no walk in the park. First of all, customer service (*611 or the 18888metro8)is a third party company contracted through Metro PCS. Most of their locations are in cities where Metro service doesn't exist. If you have any problems with your handsets or service, get off your lazy ass and go into a CORPORATE store. "Authorized dealer" locations are just there to sell the product. Now, in regards to the authorized dealer locations; they are there to make $$$. They could care less about what your issue is or what you are complaining about. When the phones break, don't yell at us. We don't make the phones. If you purchase a Motorola or Samsung and it breaks, contact the manufacturer and tell them. We trouble shoot phones, we're not GOD!! I love my service and my company!!!

I saw it was time to pay my bill so I called, paid the extra $2 dollars to pay by credit card (it costs an extra $2 to pay your bill in any way shape or form). I paid it and just as I was getting the confirmation number my call gets dropped. I'm checking my bank records and see that there is an .89 cent difference between what I paid and what was owed. I call 611, tell the automated annoyance that is the "Operator" that I need "Activation" (it's the only way to get to speak with someone real) and try to give the rep my info and tell him what happened and what I'm trying to accomplish. The rep isn't paying attention to what I'm saying, telling me that I didn't put any money into my "MetroConnect" account and thats why I'm out of minutes. So monosyllaballically I explain the whole thing to him again; his response is to tell me that he'll give me a number to call and I'll have to call back. The intrinsic problem with this is that my phone is off so how exactly do I make a call? I've now wasted 45 minutes doing all this so decide to take a direct approach and go to a corporate store. I walk in and see that there is only one person in the store besides a guy wearing a t shirt that says security (who reeks of vodka) and two people wearing metro PCS shirts. I'm waiting to be helped for a few minutes when the security guy comes up to me and says "This guy is before you." I look back and see a gent who was nowhere to be seen before this. I stand my ground and say "I was here first, no way. I'm taking time out of my work day to do this, I was here and I didn't see this guy anywhere in the store for the few minutes I've been standing here." I walk up to the counter to ask the first person I see for a manager. The guy behind the counter looks at me like he wants to do something, balls up his fist and says "I didn't call the next person in line yet."

Wow, awesome. I leave, file a BBB complaint and call SFPD; I'm supposed to meet them at the Van Ness and Ellis store in a few minutes.

WELL CONSIDERING THATS ONLY 3 OUT OF ABOUT 100 CONTACTS THAT CREATES A PROBLEM. WELL AFTER 3 SOFT RESETS AND A MAJOR REST THAT TOOK 24-72 HOURS STILL, YOU GUESSED IT NOT WORKING. THE ONE WAY CAN YOU CAN TALK TO A CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT IS TELL THE AUTOMATED PHONE YOU WOULD LIKE TO ACTIVATE A PHONE. GO FIGURE IF IT IS MAKING MONEY, LIKE A NEW CUSTOMER, PRESTO THEY ANSWER. HOWEVER, THEY ARE NOT HELPFUL THEY JUST KEEP TELLING ME THE SAME THING. SO AFTER ABOUT 5 HOURS I GOT A DIFFERENT ANSWER FROM WILL ID# 26657. HE SAID THE METRO DOES NOT GUARANTEE ANY TEXT MESSAGES TO NON METRO USERS. AWESOME, I WONDER WHY THEY DON'T ADVERTISE THAT ON THEIR T.V. COMMERCIALS. WHAT A JOKE. The ads read "unlimit yourself" and "permission to speak freely" - but that has NOT been our experience.

We’ve owned and used mobile phones for many years and have used both cellular and PCS services.

MetroPCS knowingly offers service that is sub-standard in order to sell expensive hardware (handsets and accessories) needed to access their network.

They SAY you can try out their service free for one month, when in fact, you have less than one hour (including incoming and outgoing calls billed in unknown increments) to evaluate their service. If their service were standard, 60 minutes of talk time might be enough to determine if MetroPCS is worth the low-cost of service. Unfortunately, MetroPCS service is so poor that calls are dropped constantly and need to be repeated many times just to have a simple conversation.

They SAY you can talk freely, but what they don't tell you is that once the all-too brief evaluation period ends, you are locked into being billed for services that in many cases do not exist; they will not refund the price paid for handsets or accessories.

They SAY they provide "the freedom to enjoy flexible wireless calling" when in fact sound quality is horrendous and service is non-existant in many major cities. (We were without service south of San Juan Capistrano to San Diego and east from Upland, north to Las Vegas.) This is a HUGE liability when travelling and certainly limits ones ability to communicate with anyone, much less handle any emergencies.

They SAY they provide "truly unlimited local and long-distance service" - but that assumes you actually have access to their network.

When, after only 6 frustrating days of dropped calls, no service, and poor sound quality, we attempted to return our phones and accessories and were told that we'd gone over the 60-minute limit. When we insisted this was never explained, the self-proclaimed manager of the El Monte CA store, Jesus Vaquerano, refused to listen to us. When we politely asked for his contact information and that of his manager, he asked security to escort us out of the store.

We feel that MetroPCS advertising is misleading at best. They lure customers into buying mobile phones that cannot be used and do not stand behind their promises. We now have nearly 500.00 of useless hardware and feel we were ripped off!

We would be willing to join a class action suit against MetroPCS.

I get late txt which really piss me off. Overall pretty good service for no good or bad credit. I reached customer service but I dialed the number rather than *99. Just call the toll free 188 number and they'll hook u up.

I have had metro for about 2 years now. They used to be horrible- dropped calls, late texts constantly, sometimes i couldn't even make outgoing calls. For the most part, everything has subsided except for late texts. Occasionally I stil get late texts. Another bad thing is the outrageous phone prices. Service prices are great, but the phone prices are horrible. And you have to buy from a metro store- sim cards are permanent.

I know someone that use to work for metro pcs and you know how they say you can bring in a verizon phone and they will connect it with metro pcs so long as you pay 60.00 but if the phone don't work or is not compatible with metro pcs you will lose your 60.00. Well my friend said that metro pcs would tell them to FAIL the phone even if it was compatible so they can keep the 60.00 and buy one of there phones...how wrong is that????

I've had Metro PCS for almost two years now and I HATE IT.

The texting is bad. At least once a day I recieve text messsages late. They'll come about an hour after the person I'm texting will send them. This causes great frustration for me.

The calling is bad. I can't even talk to my mom on the phone because she cuts in and out and I can't hear anything she says. So, we have to resort to texts, which lag, so either way, I can't talk to my mom.

The service signals are bad. I get recieption when my phone is on my desk and not when it is on the floor. Sometimes my signal will totally "disappear" for twenty minutes and all of my texts fail, yet I can still recieve them.

The customer service is bad. My mother ended up having to smoke a cigarette because the support line was so frustrating and inconvienent.

The phones are bad. They are all cheap and look bad too. They lack a variety of features, and yet they're extremely pricey. I used to have the Kyocera Strobe and one day my phone turned off and said "crash dump" and never worked again.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, do not get Metro PCS.

I Love my metropcs ! I have had many phones and this one is the best yet.
Unlimited texting and pic messaging and unlimited long distance and web.
Love the 411 it works great.
Lost calls is not a big deal when I get all this for 50 bucks and no contract. I like the fact I can pay any way I want at dealer or online and they send you a reminder so you won't forget.
I believe it all depends on the phone you get also had the flip phone first got the r450 slide and I love it even more then the flip and it seems to work better. I know it takes better pics.
Never did customer service always went straight to dealer with questions.
I really love my metropcs and would recommend it and have to many people.
I can use my phone any time text any time send pics any time and play on the web all for one low price and no contract to me that is great so maybe you loose a call so what you still do all the above with one low fee.
So my advice get a metropcs phone and get the messager or blackberry and use it and enjoy it and if it does not work out for you, well you did not have a contract. I live in a rural area and I get great service .
Try it you might like it or love it like me

Have had the $50 dollar package with metro for 3 years now and I bought the motorolla razor phone....I have dropped this phone so many times and it still works fine,...ive had just about every carrier there is for cell phones and find that they all drop calls about the same....only thing about my phone is the battery has to be replaced at least every 4-6 months otherwise it will not hold a charge,... otherwise ive never had a phone last this long in my life!
cant say much about the customer service because I never call them,....I just pay my bill when its due and keep smiling when I hear about my friends $80-$200 bills...
im in the bay area and I can say that I get better reception(in an auto plant) than my friends that have sprint,nextel,helio and verizon.
my only complaint is that I want an iphone.

Quality of reception on the different wireless carriers varies from city to city across the country. In one city Verizon might work best, but in the next town over AT&T might be best. If you want true customer reviews for a wireless service you need to get it from people who live in your area. While Metro's customer service is crap, most wireless carriers have pretty lousy customer service (although Verizon and Tmobile are probably the best of the bunch).

The way most wireless carriers work as a business model, is that they sell you a phone at a reduced price but lock you into contracts and make up for the price of the phone over that 2 year contract. There is no such thing as a "free" phone; if you're not paying for it upfront, you pay for it in the long run. Also, the price of their monthly service tends to be extremely expensive. Since Metro has no contracts and you pay for service in advance (when you pay your bill with Metro you are actually paying for service you have not received yet) they can't spread out the cost of the phone over the life of a contract. So they charge full retail price for the phones. So a phone that Verizon or Tmobile might give you for free or minimal upfront cost (with a 2 year contract) will be very comparable to a phone that you have to pay $150 for at Metro.

I live in Ft Lauderdale and over the past 12 years I've had Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, Tmobile and now Metro for the past year. I should note that I did not buy the entry level phone with Metro, I have a mid-level model and my husband has a high-end model with full qwerty. Both are Samsung phones. (This is my 3rd Samsung-I've had one with Verizon and Tmobile. I've had good experiences with Samsung phones.) I can honestly say that in the past I had the worst experience with Sprint and I found their customer service to be just as bad as Metro (Metro's CS really is lousy). In terms of the quality of reception, in my experience, again, Sprint was the worst; I had dropped calls all the time with Sprint. The rest of the carriers, including Metro have been considerably better and pretty comparable to each other. I've had very few dropped calls and NO lost calls, voicemails or texts. I've been with Metro for a year.

Our account with Metro is set up on automatic credit card billing. We get a text regarding our payment once a month for the exact amount due, and Metro automatically charges our credit card. We've never had a loss of service and even better, we've never had any bogus charges, which has happened with other carriers. Pricing is totally up front and it's the same amount to the penny every month. (I would LOVE to know why the FCC connection charges and taxes vary from month to month with other carriers when Metro keeps it the same regardless of minutes used! I've seen the same problems with my land-line.)

I have friends who have been with Metro for 6+ years. The network in south Florida has improved considerably. In my case I'll take the crappy customer service in exchange for the reception, which is very comparable to most of the major carriers in my area (except Sprint) and their prices, which are much more in line with reality. If I ever have a problem and need customer service I go to a CORPORATE store (not an "authorized dealer") and I save all my receipts.

I got my hubby a metropcs last December 2007 as a Christmas gift. Being in price sensitive customer, this is a good deal!

He was struggling with his Nextel's bills that kept on soaring high no matter how hard he tried not to call.

For few months with metropcs, there were a lot of dead spots in the Greater Los Angeles Area (some parts of 210, near the mountains of the 5 fwy etc...)

He was thinking of giving it up. But when we remember about the unlimited calls, unlimited text, and unlimited web for under $60, no has beat that yet.

Now that it is 2009, we noticed a very few dead zones. We took a Vacation at Orlando and Miami, Metropcs worked fine.

Bottomline:
Metropcs is excellent if you stay put in the same place where there is a signal. If you are not a traveller or needs to go to the mountains and you just stay where the civilization is at, the service is fine.

Metropcs users are in it only for one thing: phone service. Their phones are not as flashy as other company, but we do not pay a flashy price as well.

Metropcs are great for talkers and texters. Browsing the internet may be alright, but at least you can browse without fear.

I especially love the fact that I don't have to worry about my kids running my minutes and skyrocketing my monthly payment. The fact that the other services still charge you an arm and a leg per minute has made me realize that a lot of people are getting ripped off. Why could'nt some of these other services offer the same thing?

What you get in savings is more than overturned by the complete lack of service and compitance this company exhibits. They charged my monthly payment twice and then refused to credit me and turned my phone off. They made me jump through all the hoops, I tracked down the payment, confimation number and gave them my VISA card. They still couldn't find it and refused to restore my service. I have filed a complaint with the FCC and I recommend everyone else do the same.

I am in Michigan, have had Metro Piece Of Sh*t service for about a year now. It is very frustrating when you don't receive texts or your friend receives a text 15 times. BUT, I have unlimited calling and unlimited texting for $50....half of a Verizon bill. So, I suppose I will stick around until I get completely fed up.

The customer service is ok, but when I looked at Sprint I received horrible service. I don't have any issues with dropped calls either.

Just had a major FALLOUT with metro service. I have used them on and off for 4 years or so since they started off in the tri county area of south florida. My phone has always been able to use the yahoo mobile page. I finally had an issue and called them due to a totally different looking yahoo page that was pulling up. I kept getting a 502 error when I tried several yahoo search to find a login page. All 6 conversations they were rude and sounded like the call center was out of india. 3 of them actually hung up on me when I demanded to speak with a supervisor due to them arguing with me saying I wasnt having the problem I was having. The last guy actually said "we dont have supervisors" I called him a liar and said your calls are being monitored, I have your id number and I demand to speak to your supervisor. His response was they are too busy to take calls. I then got rude right back and said I wont hesitate to get your ignorant ass fired let me speak to your f*****g supervisor now. He then said "fine" gave me a supervisor and the supervisor didnt say sorry or anything when I told him what happened with the guy. He said fine I will transfer you to tech support. Then he laughed and hung up on me. I called back only to be put on hold for over an hour and sure enough no tech support. I would like to ask all of you for Metro pcs corperate office contact info. This really pissed me off and I plan to continue to call them til I am heard and understood in proper english!!!!! My email is my screen name @yahoo.com Please send me corperates number asap!!

Metro is by far the WORST cell phone company around. I absolutely hate cell phones in general, but nowadays your afloat in an ocean of technology without one.
I have had a metro phone going on three years now. Overall the service has been very irregular until recently, maybe they put up new towers. I have paid through my bank to avoid the ridiculous BillMatrix charge. Why would I pay you two dollars to take fifty dollars from me? What the hell?
Before I start to rant (trust me METRO is rant-worthy) I'll go ahead and tell you honestly that if you aren't a drug dealer, and you want customer service, METRO is THE WORST OVERALL SERVICE. Btw, if you really want to access a METRO rep=
1.) call 1(888) 863 8768
2.) wait for the most annoying and unhelpful auto-message to finish farting in your ear
3.) reply activate-reactivate a phone
4.) Say no (VERY CLEARLY...) to hearing the message again
5.) Hope to god that they won't drop your call

Yes they drop calls, and if I am not mistaken they do it ON PURPOSE. If you expect to actually get straight answers, prepare to be disappointed. Be very careful about talking to managers, you will be left on the phone for up to an hour, and possibly even disconnected for even asking. "No problem sir, the manager will be with you in 1-2 minutes". YEAH RIGHT. The managers are trained awfully, I would happily piss in all of their shoes.

As for the ACTUAL METROpcs company, I have found absolutely no way to contact ANYONE. It all seems very fishy, outsourced "tech support", and NO WAY TO TALK TO THE ACTUAL COMPANY. I can't even describe how angry companies like this make me, unacceptable.

It is a freakin scam meant to provide drug dealers with a cheap phone, as well as taking advantage of people that think they will save money by using METRO. It is not cheaper than many of the other "cheap" phone services.

To end this I would like to offer the option to contact the main metro company with a box of complaints big enough to fill an oil tanker. Do not be mistaken if they don't listen the media will. The only way to maintain a solid economy is to flex your consumer power, and drop companies like METROpcs on their ass. If you don't like what they do MAKE THEM LISTEN. If you always back down and let these companies get the best of us, the recession has a chance of becoming a full blown depression. I bet a few of us have family that lived through the "Great depression", ask them if they want to see you go through that as well. I am not overreacting, these companies do not care about the economy, they care about their profits and stockholders (do you really think their stockholders use METROpcs?).

Their store employees and especially their customer service line employees are the most rude, unskilled, impatient customer service people I've dealt with at any company. They're just a smidge better than debt collectors. Their customer service line drops calls constantly (about 35% of the few calls I've made to them). I've had an agent hang up on me for restating questions in order to get clear answers better than the canned-responses they've given. RIGHT NOW, I need to change the card they have on file for autopay, because when they try to charge it, it won't work. But their automated system can't take my new CC info and I can't get through to an actual PERSON and that automated message just sounds so damn condescending when it says that it COULD transfer me, but we should see if I can be helped by it first. Their customer support is BS. The service quality actually isn't so terrible if all you do is talk and text. I'm fine with them as long as I don't have to call their stupid service line. I'm keeping them until my cell phone's life expires. When it's time to get a new phone, it's time to get a new service.

I am also a metro pcs user, been with the company for almost 4 years and I must say the customer service is the worst I have encountered, they do not honor their insurance, nickle and dime you at every turn, will not honor their receipts. and what is this if you buy a phone and try to return it the next day, they tell you if you talked on the phone for over an 1hr its considered used and they cannot take it back. that is the most absurd thing I have ever heard. what you have to do if file a complaint with the BBB, consumer affairs, your local attorney's general office and anywhere you can file complaint also ripoff.com with that being said when I bought a new phone with I was not happy with and tried to return it the next day, I was basically laughed out the store. I went home and began to file. and the next day a guy by the name of Dan from the corporate office in Atlanta contacted me, he was very nice and listened to my concern and offered a desired solution. for the people in the Atlanta area the number is 770-256-3010, but file a complaint with the BBB in ATL. what was amazing to me was their was not any complaint filed except mine, this mean's folks just get mad and do nothing. I told Dan how horrible his company reps and supervisor's were. apparently those independent metro dealers are not well trained, so you best bet is to go directly through Metro Pcs corporate to resolve issues.

I joined Metro pcs in December, after my 2 yr contract with AT&T ended. AT&T was an agonizing experience, not only in mistakes made at the purchase location, but customer services blunders. The worst was the billing! Even though we had unlimited texting,and all of the prime features, the bill was always a shocker, and way over what we signed up for. Many hidden fees, etc. I absolutely love Metro PCS. I call my kids in Illinois every week, (I am in Florida) and my stepdaughter in Colorado every week as well. Have called friends and relatives in Michigan, and many other states and have only had an issue contacting someone in Mississippi. The customer service end absolutely stinks. I have found that dialing 888-863-8768 Press #43 two times, usually gets a rep immediately.Otherwise it is virtually impossible to get in touch with a rep. It is oftimes difficult to understand their accents and if you have a question they don't know, everytime without fail, they will hang up on you. After 2 hang ups today,(I use my home phone to dial so I am sure it is not a dropped call from my end) I actually spoke to a wonderful rep named Arturo in Texas. He answered all questions fully and took his time to find out if he did not know or was not sure of something. I made sure his sup knew how wonderful he was. My phone is a motorola v3s and I love the phone as well. I took the $50 plan and added the 411 service as well, and just love it. For the price, you can't beat it and I can deal with the poor customer service. Sure beats my $200.00 a month charges from AT&T which by the way, did not include unlimited internet access as I have currently.

I have no qualms with the cheaper service that I do not have to worry about my children running their billing time thru the roof. When at $50.00 a month unlimited. Its that you get what you pay for. And as long as my children are happy and my pockets are not empty I'm to. But my phone is and always going to be Nextel / Sprint for they have not gave me a problem in several yrs. (BUT WHEN IT COMES TO MetroPcs, THAT RECORDING SERVICE THEY HAVE IS GOT TO BE THE #1 WORST EVER) And heres the trick to getting thru that retarded voice recording is to ask for either operator or Representative the first couple times then every time after that just either garble sounds to it or CUSS IT OUT and I guarantee you with in five Min's. you will be transferred to a persons

I am disgusted at the customer service I have been getting from MetroPCS. I always pay my bill on time. I used the phone payment service they offer 2 days prior to my bill due date. What happens they cut off my services? In the meantime, my bank indicates they received the payment. Whats worse MetroPCS gave me a confirmation number to ensure that my payment was received. I am so digusted with their services. I tried every method to contact them. Their "pain-in-the-ass" automated services keeps coming on insisting she can help me. Its no wonder a lot of people call it the GHETTRO phone. Its is cause they do not know how to provide CRM.

I have been with MetroPCS in Miami, Fl for more than 5 years. I currently have the family plan (4 phones for $100). We don't travel much but the coverage area is good enough for me and my kids. In today’s economy no other carrier can beat this price. Customer service is by far the biggest piece of crap that I have ever dealt with. But what customer service automated system really works, and when you do get someone there as dumb as a bag of rocks. What I do, is that when I have an issue I usually go to a corporate store and I see the same girl that knows what she is doing. The prices on the phones aren't bad if you compare them to other carriers and get a price with no contract. Shop around and compare the new BB 8330 Curve from Metro and you'll see that the same phone with no contract is running in the $600 range with no contract, so $450 doesn't sound bad. Insurance coverage I really don't get since the deductable is really high at $75. Insurance would only make sense on the high end phones like the BB 8330, finesse and the hint. All carriers have there pros and cons. The big carriers have better coverage but higher rates with limits on minutes and data and the smaller companies just being a thorn in there side have lower rates, barely any restrictions but limited coverage. I have had cell phones since the Motorola brick back in the 80's. This industry has changed drastically since and will continue to change so just hold on for the ride. If you haven't noticed yet, Cricket, Alltel, Boost and MetroPCS have pushed the larger carriers to consider lower rates and fewer restrictions. SO be patient, that great deal is coming soon!!

I've had two Sprint phones for the last ten years (business and personal). The Sprint customer service was horrible for the first seven years but I stuck with them anyway. Then the customer service improved over the last two years but has now started to deteriorate again. I am going on vacation tomorrow and my business phone broke a few hours ago and I've spent the last 3-4 hours on the phone fighting with at least 6 sprint people. I'VE HAD IT WITH SPRINT THIS TIME. My contract expired on both phones and I am seriously considering Metro PCS. I live in the Jamaica, Queens Area (New York). I would like to hear from other individuals in New York with regards to the Metro PCS phone service (not customer service).

SPRINT, YOU ARE ABOUT TO LOSE A GOOD LONG TIME CUSTOMER.

Metropcs is service is great for customers who live in the direct market/city in which it is in. I have had metro for over a year and have dropped only 7 calls. I spend about 65 dollars a month and yes customer service is a headache. Try it and be a smart consumer ask questions and make sure you know what your getting. Alot of the people who "say there dropping calls" have you ever walked into a store and asked them to update your roaming lists on your phone??? Are you using the latest towers in your city??

I live in Dallas and I have had Metropcs for a few years now... I have never had any problems with my service. I have unlimited talk, text, and internet for $60 per month. I have even found a way to use my cell phone as a modem and get the internet on my home pc... Its a dial up connection which is slow but to me its a added bonus since I can not afford the internet at the moment... I think if anyone is having troubles with their connections that you might need to get software updates for the phone. Either from Metropcs or the phone manufacturing company.

I am not shocked at all the MetroPCS horror stories. The service has its drawbacks. If you aren't in a great area then your calls will drop. Simple as that. The signal strength on the phones aren't that great and the battery life on their phones aren't much to talk about either. BUT overall the service has improved DRAMATICALLY in the past two years. I have not dropped a call in over a year and my bill hasn't gone up one penny since I got my phone. It's still $51.86 due on the 8th of the month. Every month. (And if you can't remember to pay your bills on time then they send you a reminder as long as you request it and their is no grace period so you will be turned off) And for the person that left the complaint about the grace period thing. It's an unlimited plan for $50 just like you said. If they extended a grace period to you of 1 or 2 months like the other carriers do just imagine of how much money they would stand to lose doing so. You seem like a pretty savvy businessman. Does that sound like a sound business decision to you? Think about it. Right now I live in Atlanta and I have no complaints about the coverage. I was a Miami resident for 23 yrs and I was there during Katrina and Hurricane Wilma. We had a terrible black out the day after Katrina and Also after Wilma. The only phones that were operational after the storm were Metros'. Not Sprint, Not AT&T, not Cingular, or Verizon, OR T-mobile. Hell even a few land lines were down. But I still managed to get calls in to my mom and my girlfriend at the time to see if they were alright. And I was the one loaning out MY MetroPCS phone to my neighbors so that they could check on their families. I am a satisfied customer and the only thing I think Metro can improve on is having a stronger Nationwide network. Rather than active coverage areas in major cities and other random spots along the way. IF MetroPCS EVER becomes a TRUE nationwide network then I believe that everyone in America would switch. They have even forced the other major carriers to offer unlimited services. Although the other "Um...limited" service carriers can't match the price.

ive had metro pcs for about 3 or 4 years now. It is actually very good. i have NO dropped calls whatsoever and im using a sprint phone. The whole being able to bring phones from other networks is good. I live in south flo rida and have signal all the way to pensacola and i live in miami!

Just moved to Florida and I wanted to change to Metro PCS. Their phone number in my town is a fax number - listed in the phone book and on the net. Called other numbers for the company in surrounding towns - no friggin answer! After reading such bad reviews, I'll stick with my current company. When I went into their office with a friend, only one woman there spoke broken English. The other four were all behind the counter with their young kids. If only Toyota had a phone company.....

Metro PCS customer service leaves a lot to be desired. They are not concerned about the customer as long as they have consistent currency flow. I do not deal with customer service any longer, the key is to REPEATEDLY contact the CORPORATE OFFICE in Texas. You can find EVERYONE'S corporate name and position on the metro website, click on "About Metro PCS". By the way, if you can get the customer service person's ID3 number and both first and last names REPORT them to corporate as well as the Supervisors.

Utter crap! Metro PCS is the WORST wireless provider available in the WORLD! lol I would rather sign up with TelMex and roam all over America than use Metro PCS. haha! They have HORRIBLE cust service, DECEPTIVE sales tactics, and RETARDED employees. It seems as higher up the chain u go, the stupider they get. The management at the Pomona store that I went to was completely a disgrace. YOU ALL SUCK! Stay away from Metro PCS guys...its not worth a penny.

I've used this service for about five years or so and it's good for the money. I can pay for unlimited minutes and usage for four phones = $120. I only have issues when I travel out of the coverage area, which I've only done every now and again. I only have dropped calls in cemented buildings, but other services do to. Do you want a Mercedes and have a champagne appetite, then this phone isn't for you. If you like to stretch your dollar, buy it... it's up to you. The service and phones have steadily improved over the course of my usage.

I had MetroPCS before and never had a problem. Loved the service and the phone. Then I got a free company phone I was also allowed to use for personal use. I hated that service, though, so after a couple of years, decided to get MetroPCS again. From day one, there were issues. First, they recycle numbers that HAVE JUST BEEN DISCONNECTED. Morning, noon and all times of the night, I was getting collection agency calls for some guy named Victor who never paid his bills, apparently. Then, even when I explained, the idiots would ask me, "Well, do you know Victor's new number?" How the heck would I know that?!!! IDIOTS!

Anyway, MetroPCS changed my number and then I'm getting collection calls for some guy named Luigi because, again, the number had only just been put back into circulation.

In addition to that, the service this time around was lousy. Dropped calls, bad connections, etc.

The final straw came when, as usual, I get a text message with my monthly bill of $47.92, which I paid before the due date, but the next day, I get a message I owe 25 cents. 25 CENTS!!! There IS no email address on their website to contact them, you have to call their stupid customer service number which will NOT put you through to a live person, but rather a recorded voice goes on and on about, "I understand you want to talk to a representative, but maybe I can help you. Say 'technical difficulties' or 'account balance' or absolutely anything but what I need. Finally, I just kept pressing buttons till I got a live person who informed me that since I didn't know my "secret code" which I only pressed into the phone 3 years ago to activate the service and HAVE NEVER USED THE STUPID SECRET CODE SINCE, that I had to go to the nearest MetroPCS store. Idiot. So, I waste my time and gas money going to the stupid nearest store to be told by the moron behind the counter there that a lot of people were getting the same message and that my phone wouldn't be disconnected, they would just add the 25 cents to my next bill. I said, "But that's stupid, I don't OWE 25 cents!" Then the brain-stemmed troll says that I need to call customer service. I explained that they told me to come to the nearest store. "Oh," the sniveling druid said, "They probably meant you have to go to the corporate office." I said, "Tell you what, Sunshine, just cancel my account and refund my money or credit my credit card, okay?" To which the pathetically IQ-challenged dolt says, "Oh, then you'll need to call customer service."

So then, I stabbed her to death. Well, no, not really, but the thought was tempting.

Why is customer service a lost art these days? So, I guess I'll be checking out some of the prepaid options of some of the other cell phone companies. I am NOT signing a stupid contract, that's for sure.

I have enjoyed MetroPCS for over five years now. I rarely have have my calls dropped (when I say rarely, I mean it). The only annoying problem for me is that, on occasions, my I receive my text messages late. Other then that, it's been a great company. I would choose MetroPCS over AT&T any day. Well, I would choose their phones over the Metro selection.

AT&T has week signals. While I was in the biology building at De Anza college in Cupertino, California, everyone in my biology class who has AT&T lost ALL their bars. Myself on the other hand, has 5 out of 6 bars.

I have noticed that the technology AT&T is currently using has a hard time passing through buildings. Not for MetroPCS though!

I was going to switch to AT&T, but after witnessing their poor performance, I'm sticking with the company that I know will work - even in biology buildings- That amazing company: MetroPCS

Greetings, I have used metro for 5 years now. I have no problmes with it, I enjoy the auto billing, and the advance text message that I am about to be billed. I have a flased BB Storm, the phone works fine albeit limited aps. If I had an iphone, my montly bill would be $150+. The BB is the only phone I use, even at home. Never a dropped call, never a problem. Traveling to NY last week was a problem. Calls came in but were delayed.

I've been with metro almost since the day 1. Price is good, won't find better anywhere. BUT, I have to agree with everyone, customer support does suck big and thousand times a second. I won't get much into it, there's enough already complains about it.

There's one thing you should now, from my experience, you get a good reception a no dropped calls if you have a good phone. A $60 chip phone, you'll be complaining like anyone else. Time-to-time I would upgrade my phones to a newer better model, and never have any problems. Right now I have their new BB 8330, no problems what's so ever, except for tonight, Sept 9th of 2009, Bay Area Cali. For no reason the service just dropped, and doesn't connect back.

I tried everything, and doubt it's the phone. BTW, called their customer support on what, 1st call, a rep asked me for the security code 3 times, I told her what it is, but she had to have butter fingers or something, and account got locked out. A few minutes later I called again, another rep told me their system is not available. Called 3rd time a few min later, a guy finally got my password (system wasn't locked, so the 1st rep was full of s**t), and just told me to bring the phone to local store for replacement.

Anyways, there's goods and bads as with any other carrier.

Poor MetroPCS signal in Long Beach, CA areas. My dropped call rates are about 80-90%. When in Orange county, dropped calls rates are a little better at 50%.

Phone I have get no signal when I'm inside a large building.

Good price if you can stomach the dropped calls and bad signals.

To prevent disconnection of service, u should pay 1 month in advance.

I will upgrade the phone and see if the signals get any better. Otherwise, for $10 bucks, I'd rather switch to a different carrier and deal with the droppped calls.

Metro PCS is an amazing service. Signal strength is up to par with other national carriers. It all depends on the phone you purchase.

It is one thing to have Metro PCS and another thing if you buy the cheapest handset they offer. (Yes, it will mean you will need to pay $150+ for your phone.)

Better quality phones will work better with any mobile provider. You wouldn't buy the cheapest computer and expect it to run as a high end computer would you?

And another tip: Update your phones travel talk list so it will be up to date with all of Metro's cell towers and expansions.
Call *228(on your Metro phone) then choose the second option.

I have had this service a couple of weeks...I have had NO successful calls where anyone could hear me. My son was in an auto accident last night...he called home and I could understand nothing except for the accident part. I will be dropping this service immediately. No wonder there are no contracts, they would spend most of their time in court trying to defend the non service they are giving.

MetroPCS stinks! I had service for 3 months and never got any of my calls and when i call family that live 5 miles from me i can't hear them( they had the same problem). And one of those relatives had metropcs at the time. Its pretty bad when you live in one of the metropcs cities and this crap happens. And their cs is the crappiest i have ever dealt with, either you cant understand a word they say or get someone thats had a bad day and take it out on you and then when you ask to speak to their supervisor they hang up on you! what a joke this company is. Not to mention the billing service they use for online payments is a joke.

Let's just say that I've been with Sprint and At&t for quite some time now and no matter what , Metropcs seems to be the only cellphone company that's been offering more for money. So what if u think the service sucks. At&t and Sprint both r sucking ur money right into their corporate pockets. Seems to me that someone cares more about their pockets than their customer satisfaction. Eventually i believe they will be a true competitor and be able to have the same rights to carry better phones than being stuck going with aT&t and getting raped on all the charges just so the ceo can get 10 G5's. P.S. Customers come first.

Worse SERVICE EVER .. This is a service organization that needs to be investigated by the authorities. Phone calls drop, don't go through. Texting is extremely slow and NO INTERNATIONAL Family or Friends can reply. I asked for a refund from the agent 2 days after my purchase and was refused ! TERRIBLE SERVICE. TERRIBLE AGENTS. TERRIBLE ORGANIZATION. DO NOT BE CONNED .. The old say "If it sounds too good to be true ........

I am filing a complaint with the NY State Attorney General, simply because their ad is misleading. They do not deliver the service/s that they advertise. There are a lot of hidden disclaimers especially when it comes to availing of their unlimited international calls - its not even available/published for all consumers to see. I had to switch back with my old network the same day. I am a very patient person by nature, but if I don't complain, they will continue to deceive a lot more people.

I live in North Jersey and work in Manhattan. The service is the worst I have ever had. No singal in building in Manhattan all the time. No signal in my home in Jersey. Get away from this horrible company!!!

I keep hearing these Bad Horror stories from METRO PCS. At one point in L.A. the service was slightly under par, but no worse than nextel/sprint was. Now I have no problems I loose maybe one or two calls in the hills or century city and that's it. so the money i am saving is so worth it I mean who else has unlimited service for under $50.

I've had Metro PCS here in South Florida for the past year and a half. Have they been perfect? No, of course not. However, having previously suffered at the hands of Sprint, AT&T/Cingular, Nextel and the now thankfully nameless, mostly forgotten host of defunct carriers that preceded them dating back to 1987, I can state unequivocally that they have all stunk at LEAST as badly if not, as was most often the case, far worse than Metro. Not only that, but they all charged me far more for the privilege. Yes, I've experienced a few -- but not a disproportionate number -- of dropped calls. Yes, I experienced one -- but only one -- singularly frustrating customer service problem, and even that was resolved before it escalated into a disaster. And I, too, bemoan the lack of choice and high cost of Metro's phones, though I bought their cheapest, used it hard, and am only now looking to make the big upgrade. But above and beyond those petty issues is the knowledge, the security of knowing, that a week before my bill -- my very low and always the same bill -- is due, I receive a text message reminding me of how much I should pay and when. If I don't pay before the due date, that message is resent. Unllke their competitors, they HOPE you pay; with no late fees and no reconnect charges, they WANT you to pay. So, people, complain. Complain about Metro and their low-end, low-price, low-quality service. I do. Just like I complain about Southwest Airlines every time I fly them. And I fly them just about every time I fly.

I had Metro PCS since May of 2009. I live and work in North New Jersey.
At first, I must admit that I was very dissapointed with the service. However I was warned by the sales rep regarding the service around my house will be poor but I was still blinded by the "unlimited everything" and also we have a landline at house so I didnt care much for the reception on my cell phone. I told myself i will stick with Metro for 1 yr if not less and if no improvements have change then time to move back to Nextel. I have to be in the porch to get 1 bar (sometimes none) around where I live but have a full bar @ work. Other neighboring towns (NORTH JERSEY) mostly no service especially the malls!!! Central and South Jersey have a decent reception (from my exprerience) While I go to NYC a lot, I get a full bar of reception! Now on September of 2009 I noticed my reception on my cell phone was 5 bars....on our bedroom upstairs!!!!! So that was a plus. I would say around late Nov-early Dec. 2009 I started to get phone calls in the mall (which in previous months I had no reception non-whatsoever. Bottom line people; Give this company time to grow in our area. fast forward today. I canceled our land line, Full Bar at home and other neighboring towns, rarely dropped calls and an unlimited service for that price I cant complain...Thank god I haven't dealt with customer service but I 'll cross the bridge when i get there...
