Good Goes Global?

It’s hard to say anyone’s putting a dent in RIM’s gi-normous Blackberry mobile email business, but rival Good Technology appears intent to give the company a run for the money.
Good announced today it had signed deals with Telstra’s, Australia’s largest wireless carrier, and Bell Mobility of Canada to offer its service to denizens of those countries.
We’re not talking huge business here, since Canada and Australia have relatively sparse populations. But hey, every little bit counts, right?
Good says that even without carrier deals in many countries, it still has a pretty decent presence worldwide thanks to its presence in a growing number of multinational corporations and the ability to provision Palm Treos and other devices over the air.
Speaking of RIM, it’s been spreading its wings by going after the little fish who have their email hosted by third parties.
One of these days, it might become clear whether RIM’s proprietary hardware-tied-to software solution, or Good’s decision to work with multiple hardware and software providers, will come out on top. But for now, all we can do is sit back and watch the maneuvering.
