The New MacBook: Apple Envy Again

Posted by: Rob Hof on May 19, 2006

Months after deciding to buy an Apple for the first time, a lot of people keep asking me what I ended up choosing. Uh, well, nothing yet. Lack of time to play around with a new toy, honestly. But with the latest MacBook, I think I will finally have to take the plunge. Most everything—especially the sub-$1,500 price—is what I’ve been wanting for a home machine.

The one thing I’m not sure about: the keyboard. It looks and feels rather different from what I’m used to, and I’m not yet sure how much that would bother me.

If you want to know more, there’s a whole heckuva lot of opinions already at Macintouch.

Get a Mac! Just buy the darn thing. You'll get your money's worth out of it. Or are you enjoying the hits from Apple fans from a year's worth of columns just discussing MAYBE buying one.

After reading all your PC agonies, I don't understand what's taking you so long, esp. now you can keep your "Security Blanket" of Windows by using Boot Camp or Parallels. Switching can't possibly be worse than you already have it in "Dell Hell" to quote you:

Been using Macs since the late '80's, so I have no idea what Computer Hell is like. Seems like PC people enjoy their stay in Hell for some sick reason. They bitch, suffer, then buy another PC.

Break the cycle, take a chance! Statistics show you won't be sorry you switched. You will be sorry if you wait for Vista and expect a miracle out of Hell. Am looking for your first article as a new Mac owner.
