Chicagocrime.org Creator to Newspapers: Hire More Programmers

Editorandpublisher.com has a good interview with Adrian Holovaty, creator of the great Web mash-up Chicagocrime.org and now (get ready for a mouthful) editor of editorial innovations at the Washington Post.Newsweek Interactive. He has some advice for newspapers (and I would think any mainstream media): “Hire Web programmers — particularly those with a journalism background. A Web site without programmers is like a newspaper without pressmen.”
