I had a lot of fun with my story on Web mash-ups, which runs in new issue of BusinessWeek. Mash-ups, named after hip-hop mixes of two or more songs, combine and remix the data and services on two different Web sites, sometimes competing ones, to produce an entirely new Web service. We have a slide-show tour of a representative sample of the best, such as HousingMaps.com, chicagocrime.org, and Book Burro. But I’d really like to hear from all of you about any mash-ups we haven’t uncovered. What’s your favorite? Send ‘em along through Comments, below.

Here are some more, created from the Yahoo! api. My personal favorite is the Bay Area Traffic Cam – it’s not only cool to look at, it’s useful for everyday too.

One very easy way to create a Mash-up web sites is to use Web Integration, which is a special Browser combined with a powerful visual IDE that allows for very easy point-and-click connection to any data and logic on anything you can browse. Web Integration is already today used as the engine behind mash-up sites getting to more than 10,000 different web sites. I would like to know the general interest in making Web Integration easily available for anyone to create mash-ups?
Hi,
I seemed to have missed the boat a bit with this article, but here goes:
My company made this little app which finds out all the people in the Hot or Not database that live near you, and shows you their photos & bios.
