Peter Coy is Economics Editor of BusinessWeek. He writes and edits stories on a wide range of economic issues, working closely with Chief Economist Michael J. Mandel. Coy joined the magazine in December, 1989, as telecommunications editor. He became technology editor in October, 1992, and associate economics editor in January, 1997, before being named economics editor in 2001. He previously worked at the Waterbury (Conn.) Republican and Associated Press. He has a B.A. in history from Cornell University.
Dean Foust serves as Atlanta bureau chief for BusinessWeek, overseeing the magazine’s coverage of the eight-state Southeast and Caribbean. Foust joined BusinessWeek in 1987 as an Atlanta correspondent, and in 1989 transferred to the magazine’s Washington bureau, where over the next nine years he covered the Securities & Exchange Commission, the Federal Reserve and international economics. Foust, with colleague Michael Mandel, won the Gerald Loeb Award for Distinguished Business and Financial Journalism in 1998 for a series of three cover stories on the New Economy. He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Chris Palmeri is a Senior Correspondent based in the Los Angeles office of BusinessWeek, where he covers a variety of topics including real estate, finance, energy and travel. He worked for thirteen years at Forbes Magazine, where he last served as Houston bureau chief. A New Jersey native, Chris is a graduate of Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he majored in economics and journalism.
