You probably saw the news last week that
architect Santiago Calatrava unveiled plans for the Chicago Spire, which, if completed, would stand as the tallest building in the U.S., taller than the proposed Freedom Tower in New York. Granted, there are questions as to whether Calatrava can pull together the financing to pull off this ambitious project, which could easily top $2 billion in cost.
Set aside for the moment questions whether this project will fly and admit: It’s a pretty cool building. Chicago Tribune architectural critic Blair Kamin provides the voiceover to a neat slideshow at the Tribune web site on Calatrava and his unique design style.

In 2008, Hot Property bloggers finished #1 in a ranking of the world's top 100 "most powerful property people" by the British real estate website Global edge. Hot Property was named among the 25 most influential real estate blogs of 2007 by Inman News.
