Here’s the public relations spiel about this new luxury residential building at 20th Street and Sixth Avenue in Manhattan:
The development is inspired by the infinite potential of a blank art canvas and integrates two concepts: “white space” and “gallery living,” the former referring to the building’s minimalist interiors and scale, and the latter referring to the residence’s unique connection to art and the art of living. The 650 Sixth Avenue condominiums are spectacularly designed white-on-white apartments that epitomize both understated glamour and a cool minimalist aesthetic.
Maybe I’m not cool or minimalist enough, but this photo makes me want to splash the place with a gallon or two of bright red paint.
An additional “feature”—you’re right across the street from the former Episcopal Church that once housed the infamous (and sacrilegious) nightclub Limelight.
I can just imagine people outside New York rolling their eyes at this one.
BusinessWeek editors Chris Palmeri, Prashant Gopal and Peter Coy chronicle the highs and lows of the housing and mortgage markets on their Hot Property blog. In print and online, the Hot Property team first wrote about the potential downside of lenders pushing riskier, "option ARM" mortgages and the rise in mortgage fraud back in 2005—well ahead of many other media outlets. In 2008, Hot Property bloggers finished #1 in a ranking of the world's top 100 "most powerful property people" by the British real estate website Global edge. Hot Property was named among the 25 most influential real estate blogs of 2007 by Inman News.
