Go to www.JohnMcCain.com and one item sticks out like a goiter.
In a menu of key categories, there is “Strategy,” “Decision Center,” “General Election,” and “Golf Gear.” Golf Gear?
McCain is one of the few septugenerians in Arizona who doesn’t really play golf. He has played a round here and there, but being out in the sun that much for a man with skin cancer is understandably not a good idea.
But back to the point: “golf gear” right under “strategy” and “general election.”?
The McCain campaign may want to rethink having unfiltered comments in its golf store. When one goes to the store, the first comment that comes up right under the gear is as follows from a Bill Brill, Pensacola, Fla.
“I never cottoned to the idea that I should give up my Wednesday golf game just because there’s a war on. Our Commander in Chief has already made this sacrifice for us, turning in his clubs out of respect for the 4,000+ families who welcomed home a corpse, rather than their serviceman or servicewoman. So let’s hit the links! And what better way than with a John McCain golf bag? Nothing better identifies you with the wealthy, graying elite than zipping your balls behind the proud McCain brand.”
Ouch. That may hold down Father’s Day golf balls sales from the candidate’s website.
