Consider this an ongoing monitoring of how Facebook manages its ad strategy from the stanpoint of a facebook user.
As I opened up my profile page today, I was surprised to see a banner ad along the left side for certified pre-owned….Renault cars in the U.K.
Renault? in the U.K. It’s true that I logged on too my page while I was traveling in the U.K. It’s also true that I am networked into some U.K.-based networks for foodies and proud Welshmen. But is that enough for U.K. ads to reach my page? Uh oh.
So, before an advertiser gets excited about the cost and effectiveness of reaching Facebookers, I’d ask for some serious prove-out that the consumers reached were relevant to my brand.
