Sony Gets Ballsy. And It's Good.

Good advertising is like pornography (paraphrasing and twisting for my own purposes the late Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart). It’s hard to define, but I know it when I see it.

This TV spot (view at this link)for Sony’s Bravia LCD TV from Fallon, London works very well. Mostly, it works, because it’s just so pleasant to watch. I could actually envision myself not forwarding through it with my DVR. In fact, after I watched the 60-second version, I voluntarily watched the 180-second version. Art direction is brilliant. Music is spot on. And I actually think this is an ad that would get me to click through to a longer-form ad for this Sony TV, on video-on-demand for instance, to find out more about it…why I might consider it over other brands or other technical configurations. But, hey. That’s just me. Watch for yourself.

And why does it seem like the best stuff these days is coming out of London.

I think this new Sony bravia ad is ground breaking I hope it starts a new trend I want the musicians to be milionaires from it. Please tell me who wrote the music for the ad it is just sublime.
