NBA: Ads On Unis. Sounds Pretty Cheesy

Posted by: David Kiley on May 30, 2005

The National Basketball Association says it’s open to selling ad space on players uniforms?

This is a bad idea. Recall when the prodcuers of Spiderman wanted to put web graphics on the bases at baseball parks to promote the movie? It was shot down. Are these teams really that hard up that they would pullute the actual uniform of the players with ads? This reminds me of when I was in Little League Baseball, the Orioles, and we had Norris Chevrolet on our uniforms and on a sign that we hung on the backstop. But this is the big time NBA, not Little League.

Does anyone think the New York Yankees would put ads on their pinstripes? Not on a bet. Yuck.
