Media Guerrilla has a great post called Online Response Tactics 101 that gives advice to companies about when to talk back to someone who is writing online. Everyone runs into this question, I think. I know we do, when people get snarky labeling our stories as too serious or too obvious or speculate that details in our stories are simply plants by an oh so clever company.
What’s good about Media Guerrilla’s advice is that it walks you through different scenarios and explains why any response, basically, depends.
It looks like one of the best advices on the issue was given long time ago.
