The New York Times won’t just be hosting the Freakonomics blog (which many of us will access through RSS). Freakonomics co-author tells the Observer that the blog will expand to include more video segments, additional links to external sites, and the occasional Q.&A. with the likes of Jim Cramer of “Mad Money.”
So more than a blog on its site, the Times is getting what could develop into a Freakonomics media franchise. This leads me to wonder if there are blogs/media franchises out there that would be well-suited for BusinessWeek. Any candidates?
I thought it was curious that the WSJ actually has a section copied and cited from Freakonomics.com (dated Aug 6 though) in its print edition yesterday.

...also, I think this might be a strategic shift by the NYTimes. They decide to get rid of Times Select, they bring on Tyler Cowen of Marginal Revolution, and Mankiw (who also started blogging recently) (they now have authors of 3 of the top 10, maybe 5, econ blogs in terms of traffic), Kristoff now is blogging, they launched a new soccer blog etc... I think the number of blogs must have doubled in the last few months.

They have also recently upped their use of videos etc... And are doing it much better then before.
Oh, a media wonks' blog, perhaps?

Some tech blogs, maybe?
