If Google does buy FeedBurner, as TechCrunch is reporting, my thoughts turn to what the publishers working with FeedBurner are probably thinking. Best bet, first they’re trying to figure out, ok, who else can we work with. And second they’re probably hoping that these alternatives wither stay autonomous or else, please, please, let them get bought by Yahoo and Microsoft.
And people wonder why I shut down feeds for a portion of 2005. Between sites that hijack the content and post them on ad-heavy spamblogs and a lack of competition in Feedburner's area, I'm happy to be cautious. btw, I'm not qualifying this as "good" or "bad" news; just commenting on the nature of a new medium.
