This Week's Podcast with NowPublic's Michael Tippett

Posted by: Heather Green on April 26

In this week’s BW Cutting Edge podcast, Michael Tippett, the founder of NowPublic, explains the startup’s approach to citizen-controlled media. Based in Vancouver, NowPublic enables collaboration between traditional reporters and the public.

Members select stories in the news and add information or photos to them. As the public filters the news by itself, it decides what’s important. The site is getting around 2 to 3 million visits a month, though for the moment people are mostly reading, not submitting.
