A judge has overturned a Michigan law banning the sale or rent of violent video games to minors. He says the games represent free speech. If I even mention this ruling to my wife, who’s sitting across the table, she’ll promptly note that I bought the violent and sex-driven Grand Theft Auto for the kids a couple years ago. (It was Christmas Eve on Times Square; my judgment was addled.) In our case, even a vigilant government couldn’t have protected the kids from it. I don’t think the damage was permanent.
