Yahoo unveils news search with blogs and Flickr photos

Posted by: Stephen Baker on October 10

Yahoo displays mainstream news and blogs on the same page with this beta version of Yahoo news, just released tonight. The service also includes Flickr photos. Initially, Yahoo says, the blog search will cover the 750,000 blogs that are fed to the MyYahoo aggregator. But they’re hurrying to add more. Go to this site to register your blog on Yahoo.

For me, this is one more sign that the mainstream and bloggers are swimming in the same pool of data. In fact, it will become increasingly difficult for Yahoo and others to maintain a line between the two. That line is becoming fuzzier day.

The new Yahoo podcast search engine is running now, too. Some problems, but a great idea.
