We’re starting to pull together ideas for a project called the WebSmart 50 and would love to get suggestions. Here’s a link. It’s a list we do every two years that hightlights the most innovative use of Web technologies by corporations. For instance, Eli Lilly made the last list for InnoCentive.com, a Web site where companies submit questions to thorny problems and scientists submit solutions.
So, does anyone know of companies that are using blogs, Wikis, podcasting, or video blogging to be more productive or efficient? We don’t want the standard company exec or employee blog. And it shouldn’t be a marketing blog, though it could be a corporation that’s smart about tracking the conversations that blogs are having about their products. There should be something cutting edge about this.
This is an interesting project. I will keep my eyes peeled for some appropriate blogs.
Kind regards.

I'm not a golf fan, but I'm always impressed by the work of the PGA's web team.
One great example is www.stonyfield.com. They are one of very very few non-tech companies using multiple public blogs. I'm going to be blogging for another company starting next week, but can't link to it till then...
Heather,
Rob Hof just wrote about Ojos (http://www.businessweek.com/the_thread/techbeat/archives/2005/08/_its_also_an_ex.html) a company I'm working with. They are much, much smaller than the usual names on the list, but the reason they should be considered is that they are the first company I know in the US to use blogging as the core of their marketing. They stepped out of a major trade show, hired their marketing person, Tara Hunt, for her blog acumen. They will find alpha testers for their new photo search technology. The specific blog I nominate is Recognizing Deven, http://munjal.typepad.com, written by Munjal Shah, the comany co-founder. Deven is his baby son, and this is a wonderfully human way to show the power of his company's technology.
In Blogspotting Senior Writer Stephen Baker and Associate Editor Heather Green take a look at how cutting-edge technologies are changing business and society. Whether its blogs or wikis, data crunching or data targeting, technology’s advances are reshaping the world that we live in.
