That is typical. Corporations rarely change their views to embrace a new technology or new movement. Instead they try to change the technology/movement to fit their views.

don't call me synical but why does it always seem that big companies can't seem to leave things sacred. Im all for big business but please. In the end blogs will start out like the great MTV cutting edge, new and different, but the dollar rules everything so it will probably only end up a shadow of its idealistic past. then again im about as cynical as they come... peace out.

Anu, I tried to register for that site and wasn't allowed. So Nokia's exerting more control than most blogs. (Of course, so are we by insisting on approving the comments, which is proving to be very unpopular. By the way, we asked yesterday if we could have the comments posted automatically. Got the nix. BW doesn't want to run the risk of having hate mail, porno, libel posted on a site they run...) In any case, when I say that Nokia bends the format to its needs, I don't mean that they totally pervert it. They're interested in honest feedback and criticism. It informs them, and the blog can help build a sense of community around the phone.

Hi all... The blog you are mentionning (the Nokia 7710 VIP Blog) is not related to Nokia in any way. I was nicely invited to join their "vip" test program for that new phone, among 75 other people in France, and a bit less than 2000 worldwide.
