The Future of Computing
Electronic Ink
Startup E Ink in Cambridge, Mass., has developed a new material enabling displays that use very little power, can be bent, and are easy to read in the sunlight. How E Ink's display works: Its surface consists of little microcapsules, containing tiny white and black particles suspended in clear fluid. When negatively charged, white particles move to the top of the capsule and become visible to the user -- and that's how text is formed.
