There’s a connection between the economy and drug sales

As unemployment figures and home foreclosures have risen, so have sales of drugs for all manner of physical and emotional pain, including: hypertension, depression, acid reflux, cholesterol, and erectile dysfunction. We tracked drug sales in these categories for 22 quarters, starting with the second quarter of 2006, to find their degree of correlation with the two economic indicators.
