Apple released the latest version of its Safari browser today. That’s an image of its opening page from my desktop this morning. What’s really cool is the visual effect that happens when you open one of the sites in that view. Other new features include Cover Flow for browsing through Web history and bookmarks, tabs on top, which puts the tabs up at the very top of the window, which makes sense, but is a little weird at first since if you’re like me you’re used to seeing them a little lower down, like in Firefox or previous versions of Safari. Its a Beta version, out today for Mac and Windows. You can get it here.
It's a shame Gmail doesn't work in it though! They'll be wanting to get that fixed soon!
In related news, Microsoft just released "Gazelle" which is slower than a tortoise and won't actually be available for a long, long time.
I swear, you can't make this stuff up.
Seriously, no Flash or Silverlight and this thing looks amazing.
HTML 5, here we come.
Gmail works fine for me. Remember to uninstall third party plug-ins.
