India’s Business Standard is reporting today that the iPhone will be officially launched in that country at the stroke of midnight on Aug. 21. Apple’s carrier partner in the deal will be Bharti Airtel. Vodafone is also slated to carry the iPhone in India, and has been pre-registering customers for some time now.
Update:Word just moved on the wires that Latin American wireless carrier America Movil has an iPhone 3G launch date of August 22 as well. The countries involved are: Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.

Hi
A bit of relief. Now airtel is providing option of EMI to buy iPhone (www.airtel.in/iphone3g). At least, now people who were expecting to be in range of 16-20K can think again to buy it with EMI option. What you say guys? Can we hope to get its price down in future as well?
