Brian Krebs at The Washington Post has an interesting story on how a presentation on a flaw supposedly found in Apple’s FileVault file encryption technology.
Charles Edge, a researcher in Georgia had been slated to give the talk, on how a weakness he had found can apparently defeat FileVault, but organizers of the Black Hat conference have removed his name from the schedule. Krebs called him up and found that he had signed a confidentiality agreement with Apple that prevents him talking about it.
