It’s been 16 months since we last heard from Jon Lech Johansen, aka DVD Jon. When last heard from he was preparing to turn his skill for breaking through digital rights management technology into a business. Today the first fruits of that effort have come to the light. Doubletwist Desktop is a Windows application intended to get music and video from iTunes — those protected by the Fairplay digital rights management scheme — on non-Apple devices like the Playstation Portable, Nokia phones, and so on. No Mac version yet, but Johansen promises one soon.
