NBC Universal Joins SanDisk's Fanfare

Posted by: Arik Hesseldahl on December 11

So the latest shoe to drop in Apple’s battle with NBC Universal has dropped today. It’s not, however a doozy, but it is interesting. NBC Universal has announced that it will be signing on with SanDisk’s new Fanfare online video service. I had a story on that service on Oct. 22. Its existence was announced alongside its TakeTV device. NBC shows, which include content from NBC, USA, Bravo and Sci-Fi Channel (including the best show on television, Battlestar Galactica) will be available for download from Fanfare starting in January. Fanfare’s other major network partner is CBS.

bwahahaha - first Zucker picks a fight with Jobs (ask Eisner how smart that is) then NBC thinks they can get by without writers and now that they've been called an idiot for dropping itunes, they pick an online video store with the lowest market share to partner with. And of course, launch hulu after telling the writers online is not worth anything ... NBC, no wonder they're the 5th network.
