Looks like it was a little early to cut prices on the iPhone by a third. Steve’s got a letter up on the Web site right now pledging to give early iPhone customers a $100 store credit either in Apple retail stores or on the Apple online store. “We want to do the right thing for our valued iPhone customers. We apologize for disappointing some of you, and we are doing our best to live up to your high expectations of Apple,” he writes.
Good move. I had been hearing a lot of grumbling on this subject in the last 24 hours. Doubtful it will sate everyone. But it’s certainly a step in the right direction.
Update: The stock has been on a ride all day, but as I write its down $1.72 or just a hair more than 1%. Keep an eye on it here.
