Breaking: Apple iPod Media Event Sept. 5

Posted by: Arik Hesseldahl on August 28

Word just in from Apple is that the company will hold a media event at the Moscone Center in San Francisco on Sept 5. The headline on the invite sent to reporters like myself is: The Beat Goes on, and depicts an iPod user. This would go to confirm the rampant speculation that an iPod release is imminent.

Also, I for one can’t help but notice the mild resemblance in the “album art” in the foreground of the invitation to the Beatles album “Love.” Or is that just wishful thinking on my part? I have noticed that the Beatles’ solo work has been appearing with increasing regularity in the upper promotional band on the iTunes Store lately. I see Ringo Starr’s solo work has recently been added, and saw John Lennon and Paul McCartney’s solo work promoted next to each other, which to me can’t have been an accident. Could the launch of The Beatles on iTunes finally be upon us?

The Beatles are coming an I'll explain why...

The final press release of the Beatles goes as follows...

When the spinning stops -- that'll be the time to worry, not before. Until then, the Beatles are alive and well and the beat goes on, the beat goes on.

That plus the appearance of the LOVE Album Artwork convinces me!
