New MacBook Pros Today

Posted by: Arik Hesseldahl on June 05, 2007

Good to see new MacBook Pros out today. The line had been due for a refresh for some time now. A few weeks ago, good friend who’s a college professor, and who’s about to change jobs, had asked me what to get in terms of Mac notebook. Since his new employer is footing the bill, I told him to wait a few weeks and then request a MacBook Pro. Good advice, that was, I think.

A few headline features include a new Mercury-free LED-backlit display in the 15-inch model, (How do you like that Greenpeace?) integrated 802.11n (Hey, IEEE? Do you think you might get around to finishing that standard this decade?), Intel Core 2 Duo rated at 2.2 and 2.4 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT, support for up to 4 GB of RAM, and hard drive capacity that maxes out at 200 GB. Still the best-looking notebook on the market, in my humble opinion.
