Confession time: I bought my first iTunes Plus tracks this weekend. It was Cannonball Adderley’s “Somethin’ Else” which if you’re not familiar with it is profiled here by NPR, and is to my mind one of the best records ever made. Strangely, I haven’t had a chance yet to put the album on my iPod to hear how it sounds there, but it sure sounded nice on the MacBook.
I too just made my first iTunes Plus purchase, Simply Red's So Not Over You. By the way the purchase was based on an iTunes Store "Just for you" recommendation. I am not sure my 56 year old ears can discern the difference in quality, but I thought I would give it try.
Sidebar: The Steve Jobs and Bill Gates D5 interview is available for free at the iTunes Store. It is is a PodCast. You can get just audio or a video, or both if that triggers your trip
Congrats on purchasing and listening one of the best jazz albums ever. Their version of "Autumn Leaves" is so unique and beautiful. And when you put headphones on and crank up Cannonball's saxophone on "Dancing in the Dark," close your eyes and you will experience music taking you to another place.
