Bill Gates Stepping Back (Not Down) At Microsoft

Posted by: Arik Hesseldahl on June 15, 2006

The Associated Press just moved an alert reading the following:
REDMOND, Wash. (AP) Microsoft Corp. co-founder and chairman Bill Gates is relinquishing daily duties in 2008 to work more closely with his foundation.

This is big news. More as it develops.

Shouldn't this be under Byte of the MicroSoft :)

Seriously even though he is the guy we love to hate I wish him and Melinda well. I met him once, back in 1989, it was a brief encounter at a computer show near Chicago.

I thought he was stepping down for two years only. Coming back in 2008. That's more like the Gates we know. Are you sure?
