Last week we ran a story and accompanying slide show looking at some of this country’s longest running eateries – the oldest being New York City’s Fraunces Tavern, which was founded in 1762.

By no means was this the definitive list and we asked readers to send in suggestions of restaurants that have been around for years. The response was great. We received numerous suggestions from nearly every region of the country. In the near future we will be putting together another slide show incorporating these reader-generated restaurants so keep sending in those suggestions and bon appétit!
