Obama's Text Messaging Plan

By on August 27, 2008

If Barack Obama has his way, the revolution will be text messaged. The Democratic presidential nominee added another 30,000 phone numbers to his database Thursday night one hour after campaign officials encouraged supporters to text message the DNC.

The text messages are part of Obama?? strategy to reach out to voters through a variety of newer communication tools, including social networks and mobile phones. Last week, Obama formally announced his choice of Joe Biden as vice president through text message. Each of the text messages Obama?? campaign receives provides greater access to supporters who can then be encouraged to volunteer on Obama?? behalf and vote in November.
