Is there such a thing as entrepreneurship within large companies? Years back, when the first wave of VC-funded tech companies got everyone excited about entrepreneurship and the possibilities for innovation and the creation of entire new industries, big companies started to pick up on the idea. Many tried to copy the VC formula, others tried to find ways to encourage their own employees to become more entrepreneurial. Does that spirit still exist today? I mean the lone person with a vision stubbornly pursuing an idea within the confines of their company? I don’t know of many examples. If you have some, please share them. Or, if you have some advice for what I’ll call the corporate entrepreneur, pass those along.
