Patrick Whitney's Design Strategy Conference is Happening Now.

Bruce Nussbaum

I'm in Chicago, heading over to the IIT Institute of Design's Strategy Conference cocktail bash/welcome. I'm hoping to meet up with some of the speakers and participants, like Ben Tsiang, from China's SINA.com. Jim Wickes Director of Consumer Experience at Motorola, Rob Forbes, Design Within Reach, Roger Martin, Dean of the Rotman School of Management, the amazing designer, Clement Mok, Todd Tillemans from Unilever and Blaise Zerega, Managing Editor, Conde Nast Business Media. Hey Blaise, what's with the name?

I was at Patrick's last Design Strategy conference in Beijing and I'm still using the IP I picked up there. This one is gonna be terrific too.

Captured a few thoughts (and even a Warhol-esque photo montage) from day one:

"The combination of the venue, speakers, community blog, photos, podcasts, all add up to a great experience. If you plan on hosting a conference, you should check out how the IIT turns conference into experience."

Bruce---

I really enjoyed your chat with Patrick and Blaise yesterday afternoon. Your comments about CondeNast were very generous---it will be interesting to see their contribution. It does seem, however that you at BW, and now with IN, seem so very far ahead--and in a very appropriate space. Thanks very much for your INfluential efforts---in the "rising tide" mode, you are contributing to a much more robust dialogue now that others are joining the conversation!
