What Do You Like? I Like That Too.

Heather Green

I stumbled across this post about the self-reinforcing nature of popularity (and the implications for sites like Digg etc) just today(Via Rex Hammock). It strikes a chord with me, because I have been trying to figure out what I think about services like Digg. They're fascinating, and yet, how do you avoid the echo-chamber effect? Rob at BusinessPundit argues you can't.

Hi Heather,

Actually I think that you can, you just have to aggregate the voting without letting the voters see the scores until it is over. That is why I prefer software like Scoop over the software that runs Digg.
