Prepare for the Worst

A disaster could strike your micro-business at any time. To prepare for disasters ranging from natural causes to burglary, make sure you have answers to these questions:

Do you have your computer information backed up?

Do you have a list of your customers’ contact information that you can access offsite?

Do you know your competitors in the surrounding area, which may be able to service clients while you recover?

What are the tools of your trade, and how can you buy or rent them quickly?

Does your homeowner’s insurance policy cover business losses?

Has someone else read and evaluated your plan?

Have you refreshed the plan in the last year?

Do your employees know the disaster plan?
