Treasury Bond Prices Fall

MARKETSCOPE : Treasury bond prices fell in early trading Friday, as investors sold for profits following the market's recent rally.

The 10-year Treasury notes were off 08/32 to 100-02/32 for yield of 4.498%, the 2-year note was off 02/32 to 99-22/32 for yield of 4.401%, and the 30 year bonds were off 17/32 at 110-07/32 for yield of 4.685%.

Investors continued making bets on the direction of interest rates. The Federal Open Market Committee has raised rates 12 times since 2004, in an effort to keep inflation under control.
