Apple and video blogging
Steve Rubel rightly points out that video blogging is mentioned in the first paragraph of Apple's press release of the video iPod.
I love video blogging--but i think Apple really needs to love it too since it doesn't have that much in the way of other video to offer people right now beyond episodes of five TV shows from ABC and music videos you have to pay for....

Well, the real question to ask is: how is this going to affect the illegal download of movies and television shows? Should we expect a massive uptick, or will iTunes swoop in and save Hollywood?

I don't think Hollywood at this point is actually affected that much by movie and TV downloading. Most of the piracy that is hurting them is from physical copies. Not to say that it won't impact them in the future, but it's smart of them to lay the groundwork so that they can compete against piracy in the future.
