The $80 the IAM wants would hike that by [not "to"] $29 million a year...." That would be 2.3% of the machinists' total wage-and-benefit expense, not 1%, as depicted in the accompanying table. [On Sept. 25, Boeing agreed to a three-year settlement of more than $270 million.] "The real reasons you're working so hard" (Cover Story, Oct. 3), should have said 31% of adults got less than seven hours of sleep on weekdays in 2001, not 34%.
