Raymond James Upgrades SkyWest

SkyWest (SKYW) acquires Atlantic Southeast Airline from Delta Air Lines for $425 million. Raymond James upgraded the stock.

Analyst Samantha Panella says she upgrades to outperform from market perform given substantial positive impact on SkyWest's earnings as result of the planned acquisition of Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA). She still doesn't have all the details surrounding this deal, but estimates incremental business from ASA will positively benefit SkyWest's 2006 EPS by about $1.00.

Thus, Panella raises 2006 EPS estimate from $1.96 to $2.96. She says her 12-month price target is $28, which is based on 9.6 times her 2006 EPS estimate.
