Bloggers covering local news--a French case

Stephen Baker

Lots of response to the post about bloggers covering local news. It's a big (and explosive) issue in other countries too. Take this example in France, where a blogger has been sued (French language site) by the mayor of the Paris suburb of Puteaux for his aggressive reporting. Since the mayor apparently doesn't blog, I'm having a very hard time getting his side of the story. But this phenomenon is important in France, where the reporting focus is national--and local news often goes uncovered.

Hi Stephen, I agree, we should get the mayor's side of the story as well, but he does not communicate much about the topic, apart from suing Christophe...
