Adobe Raises Guidance


Google (GOOG) posted 71 cents, vs. 10 cents fourth-quarter earnings per share on a sharp revenue rise. The company posted 92 cents EPS in the current period excluding a $60 million charge to cover stock compensation.

Adobe Systems (ADBE) raises 45 cents to 48 cents first-quarter earnings per share guidance to 47 cents to 51 cents, on revenue of $450 million to $470 million (vs. prior guidance of $435 million to $455 million). The company cites strength in sales of the Acrobat 7.0 product family.

Boeing (BA) posted 23 cents, vs. $1.40 fourth-quarter earnings per share despite a 1.2% revenue rise. It sees $2.40 to $2.60 2005 earnings per share and $3.00 to $3.20 2006 earnings per share.

Citigroup downgrades TiVo (TIVO) to sell from hold. Yesterday the company announced that Marty Yudkovitz resigned as president.

Monster (MNST) posted 20 cents, vs. 11 cents fourth-quarter earnings per share on a 45% revenue rise. The company sees 16 cents to 17 cents first-quarter earnings per share.

Nvidia (NVDA) raises more than $516 million fourth-quarter revenue guidance to $560 million to $570 million and sees 33.5% to 34.5% gross margin percentage, vs. 33.3% previous guidance.

Countrywide Financial (CFC) posted 56 cents, vs. 94 cents fourth-quarter earnings per share. The company raises its quarterly dividend 16% to 14 cents.

Linens 'n Things (LIN) posted better-than-expected 99 cents (including item), vs. $1.02 fourth-quarter earnings per share on an 11% revenue rise. It sees 6 cents to 9 cents first-quarter earnings per share on 6% to 9% sales growth. The company targets $1.80 to $1.86 2005 earnings per share. S&P reiterates buy.

Rohm & Haas (ROH) posted 56 cents, vs. 49 cents fourth-quarter earnings per share from continuing operations on a 13% revenue rise. The company sees $2.50 to $2.75 2005 earnings per share.

Oshkosh B'Gosh (GOSHA) posted 73 cents, vs. 8 cents fourth-quarter earnings per share on an 11% same-store sales rise and an 11% total sales rise.

Pacer International (PACR) posted 44 cents, vs. 30 cents fourth-quarter earnings per share on a 16% revenue rise.

Maxim Integrated (MXIM) posted 42 cents, vs. 28 cents second-quarter earnings per share on a 29% revenue rise. S&P reiterates a strong buy.

Chubb Corp. (CB) posted $2.15m vs. 38 cents fourth-quarter operating earnings per share on a 5.1% rise in net premiums written. The company sees $7.60 to $8.00 2005 operating earnings per share.
