Reader LeeAnn Elkins thinks the doubts over exit polls are nothing compared to potential problems with electronic voting. She writes:
"Why isn't the media asking 'how do we know the electronic tally is correct' instead of, or in addition to, 'what happened to the exit polls'? There is NO way to have a recount on the paperless machines. It's un-American, it should never be tolerated in a democratic society, and the media needs to help open the curtains and let the light in on this subject. When did 'because we said so' become acceptable to both journalists and Americans?"
A question worth pursuing. Thanks, LeeAnn.
