Caremark Rx Agrees to Acquire AdvancePCS


AdvancePCS (ADVP) agreed to be acquired by rival pharmacy-benefits manager Caremark Rx (CMX) for around $6 billion in cash and stock.

Vivendi Universal (V) signed a preliminary deal to sell its film and TV assets to General Electric's (GE) NBC unit in a deal valued at about $14 billion. Under the plan, GE would own 80% of the new U.S. media giant and Vivendi would have around a 20% stake.

Video-game software maker Take-Two Interactive (TTWO) agreed to buy TDK Mediactive in a $22.7 million deal.
