Berkshire Hathaway Agrees to Acquire McLane from Wal-Mart

Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway (BRKA) agrees to acquire McLane Co., the grocery-distribution business of Wal-Mart Stores (WMT), for about $1.5 billion. Wal-Mart also said it will sell Merit Distribution Services, a McLane subsidiary, to Swift Transportation Co. (SWFT), a national-truckload carrier, for about $50 million.(5/2)
