Analyst Hil Davis Cheesecake alerted DRI's Olive Garden Restuarants about the potential of contaminated cakes. He says the bacteria is limited to one batch, and that Cheesecake pulled the product. Davis notes DRI and Cheesecake does not believe the restaurant served the cake to any guests. He says DRI stopped receiving Cheesecake products until DRI's quality assurance team reviews Cheesecake's new procedures.
Also, Davis says DRI plans to return to Cheesecake products once the proper procedures are in place. He sees $1.00 2002 earnings per share, and $1.24 for 2003. He thinks this is a one-time event; and says Monday's after hours sell-off creates a buy opportunity. Davis is keeping his attractive rating on the shares.
